I have really fine hair and i have been researching everything and anything possible to help me from getting even thinner hair. Over the past few years it just seams that my hair volume is getting less and less. I saw this product online but I am so hesitant to try it Kerastase Densitive Daily Anti Hair Thinning - Dietary Supplement is what it is called and i was wondering if anyone has tried this or knows someone who did.

Thank you.

You may already know all this but ... Have you already tried sulphate-free shampoo/ shower gel/ face wash? And have you had a full medical workup to ensure there is no underlying health condition? Supplements can be of use but do not replace good nutrition; are you consistently meeting or exceeding all your government's recommendations for healthy eating?

Hi

I agree with the previous poster that correct nutrition is vital for good hair. Also, I don't know how old you are but my hair started to thin and fall out, especially around the front, when I was 45 and went on intermittently for a year or so. I went to visit one of the top UK trichologists (he has a clinic in New York too). Afer blood tests etc. he decided that my hair loss was due to 2 things: sensitivity to testosterone and lack of iron. Both of these causes are responsible for many cases of hair loss in women. 15 years later, with correct iron intake and scalp drops to neutralize the sensitivity to testosterone, my hair is great and no one would ever know there had been a problem. I really think that if I hadn't taken expert advice, this wouldn't be the case. I recommend you to do the same so the exact cause can be determined and wish you good luck.

Tefla, what anti-androgen scalp drops and iron supplements are you using, please? Thanks!

Hi Ethel

The drops are prescribed by my trichologist and contain, among other things, oestradial and minoxil. My hair follicles are over- sensitive to even the very small amounts of testosterone that all women have and this plays a role before and at the menopause when the body is producing less oestrogen. I apply the drops to my scalp, just at the front, every couple of days. I also have a blood test annually to check my levels of oestrodial and ferritin.

The iron supplements are non-prescription and are called Ferrograd C (iron and vit. C.) because a lack of iron was also a contributory factor to my hair loss.

Hope this helps.
