I’ve been using Retin-A Micro Pump 0.04% for 4 months, and recently got a bottle of Retin-A Micro Pump 0.1%.
After applying the 0.1% on my skin, there is a white residue/film left on my face. It takes up to 2 hours to disappear. Is this normal?
I don’t have any residue on my face when I use the 0.04%, and I use the same amount as directed by the product description, 2 pumps each. I do find the 0.1% strength harder to spread.
Am I not blending correctly? But the 0.1% dries so fast that I feel like I don’t have enough time to blend evenly on my face, and when I try to blend after it dries it clumps up..
Anyone having the same problem or have any suggestions to resolve this residue issue?
Thank you! |

I used the pump and loved it. It was much less irritating (probably a difference in the base) and was more sanitary. I dont recall any issue with a white residue. I used the .1% as well. |

I have only had that issue once or twice, and quickly discovered I was applying too large an amount. Its only a pea sized amount you need for your entire face, and any excess from that you can use elsewhere. That should help! |

This was my experience exactly when using the gel. I struggled with it til it was almost finished since I don't like to waste (& it WAS working on my skin), then finally switched to the cream. There may have been something wrong with the packaging, because it didn't seem too bad when I started, but later it became crusted around the sides and toward the end of the tube, it only squeezed out a thin stream.
I used it right before bedtime (when alone!) so didn't care about the white residue. Hope you're not using it in the morning.
I'd heard others mention having the same problem - can't remember which formulations & strengths though, but you can look up the old threads.
By the way, its been said that there's no reason to go up in strength, so I don't intend to. |

I had that problem with the ADC version and the residue almost never went away. I suspect that happened because I ordered it in the summer, which was blazing hot, so that might have affected the formulation. |
