Every time I go get a manicure, the ladies tell me how good Shellac Nail Polish is, and how it lasts 2 to 3 weeks. I always say no, because I am worried that it will weaken (my already frail) nails.
Has anyone tried it? If so, what was your experience? Is it worth it? |

I loved the gel nails, but after a couple of months, it did ruin my nails. They felt very soft & I ended up cutting my nails very short. |

When I got my shellac removed my nails did feel a bit weaker and it's naken about a 2-3 weeks for them to go back to normal.
The reason why I stopped was because my nails grow too quick and going every 1.5 weeks is not ideal for me. Also since not much research is known about the UV exposure, even for 3 cycles of 60-80sec (whatever it is), frightens me a bit. But thats just me.
But it did weaken my nails.. and they were removed by a professional. |

Supposedly does not damage your nails like gel nails. Perhaps even protect.
I was worried anyway but on the one occasion I've tried, they were fine. If anything they are harder.
I don't know if I'll make it a regular thing my nails grow fast. What I do like is how quickly they dry. So will be getting next pedicure in shellac, will be nice to be able to wear boots home rather than flip flops in the cold and wet! |
