Some people do lose their looks at 35 - lack of upkeep. (male, female...)_ Gaining weight, poor nutrition, stress, no exercise, no sunscreen - these will all contribute to looking far more lacklustre than your younger years. Given upkeep an older woman can look amazing. One man I know says that younger women are like penguins - they all look alike - it's the older women who stand out to him.
These are the guys worth knowing, not the other variety. They probably are the one's with the big beer guts.!

I agree this is just advertising.

Its ridiculous to make such general statements like that to scare you into using their products.

What a load of rubbish!! I'm 35 soon to be 36, so in about a month I will look ugly!! Bad Grin

I just think these research studies sometimes have way too much time on there hands and just want to sell there products to these people and make all these ridiculous claims that if you use there products you will be beautiful forever.

I think if you take care of yourself you can look great for years to come. I think I look better now than I did 10 years ago. Also how many people did the study and who did they study??? Makes you wonder about all these research studies. Rolling Eyes Bad Grin

Shame on them for preying on people's (women's) fear to try to market their product - total boycott.

90+20=110 Unless you are very, very short, say 3-feet tall, 110 is fine.

Wonder if this is the same research group who determined that women after a certain age were more likely to be struck by lightening than to marry. LOL

I started to lose my looks around 36.......at the time was exercising at the gym several days a week, had avoided sunlight for several years, was doing Perricone diet & on BCP/chemical estrogen for early peri..... I'm more skincare oriented than I was then but imo the damage is done--- I will never look as good as I did in my early 30s. I work a lot harder at it now that's for sure.

Soft Endz... this is what happens to all of us, it just depends on the degree. I also work out, take supplements, and take very good care of my skin. However, it is harder and harder to hold your ground so to speak. Prior to this year, I would use only a good moisturizer and some antioxidants. Now, I am working stronger products (CP, AHAs) because I find I need that now.

Now, I do take offense to this article saying that "women loose their looks" after 35. While I may have more wrinkles, I still think I am attractive.

Rubbish. There's way more to looks than the number of the years.

As Keliu says it was sponsored by a company to sell their product.

I'm not saying they swung the results to their favour, so they could intimidate women into buying more skin care, but it would be interesting to know how exactly they conducted the research and came upon the findings. I certainly know of a lot of women over the age of 35 that be it genetics or taking good care of themselves, look really good Wink

I was actually pretty unattractive until I hit 40 and, as the joke goes, shed 180 ugly pounds. It's all in the attitude. And taking care of yourself (exercise, diet, skin care, hair style, clothes) helps.

For myself, I noticed in previous photos around 35/36/37 my face looked horrible...sun damage, lots of smile lines, discolorations, droop....I just hit 40 a few months back and I have to say I look better now than I did back then because I did a complete turn around right before I hit 37 and started to take care of my skin religiously.

Now I think I look better than I did back then...I've pretty much reversed everything I see in those "old" photos.

Total Bull!! Many women look soooooo much better as they age. Every person is different, you cannot pigeon hole everyone like that!! I am now 40, I believe I look better than when I was in my 30's, esp. when looking at old photos. Very Happy

I take much better care of my skin than I did 5 years ago but don't think I look better--- I just work harder at it than I used to.

Although honestly, last year I wondered if after using the Tua Viso I actually look a LOT better than I did at 34. If I did nothing I would look older though. I think that is what the article is getting at. Very Happy

If we didn't do anything to ourselves and kept living a poor lifestyle, eating poorly, sun exposure etc...then sure, our looks would decline due to age.
But nowadays more people are taking better care of themselves as a whole (body, mind, skin) and have more advanced anti-aging technology at our disposal than they did 30 even 10 years ago, hence the reason we are aging better (least we forget what role genetics play in this too)

I think the mature look is fabulous, even with wrinkles here and there (not that I want any though! haha)..way better than the 20's/early 30's look. But it still depends on how we take care of ourselves. I for one think I look better now than I ever did. In my 20's to 30 I was popping out babies, fluctuated in weight like crazy (at one time a size 12/14) and didn't give one rats arse what I looked like, what I ate or what did with my skin with youngins running amok and a now ex husband who was a total bleeping jag Laughing....my turning point was frying myself on a Caribbean vacation between the ages of 36-37...I took one look at myself in photos and in the mirror and said what the?!?!

Now, I'm divorced, less stressed, holding steady at 125-130lbs and am extremely conscientious about what I put in and on my body.
