Can anyone recommend any products for really dehydrated wrinkled skin? (Not for me I am pleased to say!)
I mentioned to my mother in law that people had commented on my skin since I started using L'Occitane Divine Cream and she's decided she has to have some!
She hasn't got a problem with the cost but I think when she shells out £65 and gets no results I will be in the doghouse so I'm desperately trying to come up with an alternative without offending her. Help!! |

I sometimes use pure vaseline on my cheeks, under my eyes and forehead. I also really like the natural product Face Dream Intensive by The Dream Products. |

Weleda baby calendula face cream - cheapest on Amazon's 'subscribe and save' scheme. Contains lanolin which supplies cholesterol and fatty acids that are found in the stratus corneum. Cholesterol particularly depletes as ladies age; I notice a plumping effect with this soon after application. The texture is very thick/ rich, so I prefer to mix it with a little aloe vera gel which is a humectant (attracts and holds water and has proven collagen inducing properties. If you don't think she'd accept a baby cream, Weleda Skin Food also contains lanolin and gets rave reviews.

What is your MIL cleansing with? If she's using soap and water or a foaming cleanser based on sulphate surfactants, just switching that could improve skin hydration. |

Something real simple, natural and cheap is glycerin. Don't let yourself be put off by its simplicity, it's powerful stuff!
With the recent cold spell the skin around my eyes was really dry and wrinkled... , even using my usual eye cream,... no good, vaseline, a bit better, but... what really made a difference has been using glycerin on moist skin!! Just discovered this in the past few days, don't know how it works on the long run. |

I am a 51 year old woman that has virtually tried everything on my face,I have done the whole Obagi routine, Retin A, Vitamin E, Lancome, every french-italian etc...product made. Recently I just decided to try something, as my skin was really becoming dry and had some patches on it that scared me. I opened a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive oil and have been dipping a q-tip into it after cleaning my face...I apply it and lightly massage it in with my finger tip...miracle of all miracles but I wake up in the morning and my wrinkles look as if Botox has just begun its effects, my face is smooth like velvet and my makeup goes on beautifully. Will keep you posted. It is cheap, easy and virtually seems to be a miracle! |

!). Spritz with rose water. 2). Apply Nia 24 cream (I've read Niacin is the best ingredient to help trap moisture on the skin). 3. (optional) light layer of squalane oil. |

I emulsify rosehip oil OR olive squalane in the hand with AV gel right before applying and it absorbs beautifully. I tend to use that after a light AHA peel or dermaroller session. Not tried wheatgerm oil but I imagine the concept is much the same. |

I think I would like to try this... if it is good, maybe recommend to my mom as well.... There is no harm in trying something natural...
