Sorry to read you are in so much discomfort. Sounds like the ingrown hair might be infected or maybe you have a blocked/ infected gland. Do you have some Neosporin cream or diaper cream you could apply? Might be safest appointment to see your family doctor or nurse at the practice. |

I had one at the top of my bikini line, just under where the pubic hair begins. It was really tough trying to find ways of giving it room to heal, without clothing rubbing on it and mine ended up leaving a horrible scar. Its probably too inflamed & irritated to risk further damage to the skin or a secondary infection, so neosporin sounds like a good idea. Can I just say on your behalf OWWEEEEEEEE!
My mom used to advise gently dabbing with epsom salts in very warm water for skin inflamations, until it subsides on its own. Not sure if that's an old wives tale kind of thing or not but hope it heals fast! Maybe an Ibuprofen for the pain & inflamation? |

I use BHA. It usually starts getting better in a few days. |

I used to have to dig mine out with a needle. No scars and it allowed the infection to heal. I'm not advocating digging under your skin with a needle, but I needed to do it. Now it's all lasered off. |

I would wait until you get out of the shower and your skin is warm and clean. Then squeeze and or dig with a sterile lancet. I find when I get a super nasty ingrown, there are 2 hairs trapped. I get out one and it doesn't heal and then I go looking again and find another hair.
ick, good luck! I hate those buggers! Once you are all healed, get a pair of exfoliating gloves (about $2 at Wal-mart) and dry brush the skin all over before showering. That should help in the future! |

Nad's sells a good spray for preventing ingrown hairs. I find that if I do get one, the spray help s it go away a faster.
Also, as previously posted, be sure to exfoliate the area no later than 24 hours after hair removal. I find it makes a huge difference for me in preventing the ingrown hairs. |

I use my hubby's Tend Skin, works like a charm, EDS sells it and we keep it always on hand. Hydrogen Peroxide and Apple Cider Vinegar can do in a pinch. |
