Jane Iredale is a nice one. It leaves a great finish and a lot of colour selection. Check out the reviews on MUA too

I want to try Lancome Absolu foundation because Sandy Linter recommends it. I love her book, Makeup Wakeup.

I have combination skin and use Shu uemura face architect. i remember reading that it is better to use vit c serum at night, so i don't use it underneath sunscreen in the morning.

I find that most foundations tend to streak and /or emphasize my facial hairs/any flaky skin, so I'd stopped using them for a long time until I recently discovered Dr Hauschka's Translucent Makeup. None of the above problems with this one!

I've been using Jane Iredale's PurePressed Base for a couple of years now. I love how natural it looks.

I am NOT a foundation person... Oh my not at all and I just started with a lovely, organic, all natural ingredients (nothing toxic at all)... Vapour soft-focus foundation. It is spectacular. Works to not harm you on the inside and looks great outside. Highly recommend. You young girls should really look toward using products that are natural - no parabens to start. PLEASE!!! You are what you eat,.... You are what your body absorbs.

I love Chanel foundation. They discontinued the teint liquid one that I have used for at least the last 5 years....(and i saw a bottle of it in kim k makeup chest on her show) so I've been experimenting with their other products....currently using the aqua one but I need a little more coverage so my next try will be pro lumiere. I have already tried the lumiere one which is a dewey finish and I have combo skin as well so will prob go back to that in winter.

A year ago I tried the popular Armani silk one which is good but doesnt compare to Chanel. And I don't think I'll stray again. I've sampled some others that get lots of recs like mufe and they don't even compare.

One of my friends raves about laura mercer tinted moisturizer

I've been using Double Wear
Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup SPF 10
by Estée Lauder for years. I have fair skin, and burn easily. The SPF in this works, and the finish is very natural. Also, it does last all day, even on the hectic ones! I love it.

I use the Beauty Wise liquid foundation and love it. It is organic but works very well (competes with La Prairie one if I were not going for organic). I tried Well3 and Vapor, both are lovely, but Beauty Wise works better for my skin.

I wonder if any of you use BB cream. I just started makeup like nearly a year ago, back then I only wear concealer, eye liner, mascara. Then 5 months ago, I wanted to try foundation. But my friends recommend me to use BB cream instead, they say that it works like foundation but it's lighter, can block sunlight. So I bought a Maybelline BB cream, it works okay, a few days ago, I bought a Shiseido BB cream SPF 25, that works fantastic. It evens the skin color and sort of whiten it a bit. Also, it makes my skin glow.

What are the ingredients that make it a BB cream? I always see them mentioned but am not sure what exactly they are.

I love MUFE face & body. It looks like skin. The hi def is great too. Because I have a tough time shade matching I can't decide which one to repurchase (although theirs are the closest I've ever come besides a specially mixed prescriptives), so I'm experimenting with drugtore brands and color correctors... once in a while I'll go out and catch a glimpse of myself loking like I'm wearing a mask, which is awful.

Sistersweets I agree with what you wrote. I'd like to go that route, but I guess time, money, convenience all get in the way. Mostly its that shade-matching is brutal for me.

I use Smashbox primer and Jane Iredale pressed powder. I really like the natural look it gives you as well as the clean, natural feeling all day.

I used BB cream (I forgot the brand but I think it was Swiss made) when I lived in Korea. It was okay in terms that it didn't break me out, however, the brand I used really lacked colour selection. According to the people who recommended me to use BB cream, BB cream was first used for people who had undergone skin surgery so I guess it has healing ingredients along with concealing properties.
The foundations I'm using right now is Armani's Designer Foundation. It's nice, light, and doesn't clog my pores. I can build on the foundation for extra concealing if I want. The price is $65 in the States and in Asia, but I think it's more expensive here in Canada (I think it's only sold in Holt).
I have also used Bareessential's mineral powder. I used to love them but then I realized that I tend to get more black heads around my nose whenever I used Bareminerals. Does this happen to others who has used them before?

It's hard for me to tell you what ingredients makes it a BB cream, I'm no expert Wink

One thing about BB cream is that it's very convenient. It can do so many things: conceal(but not very good, I still use a concealer), whiten and even the skin tone, has SPF, and also, the ads also say that BB cream is good for skin(I'm not sure about that though.)

BB cream lacks of color selection, usually one color for all skin tones. But that's okay for me 'cuz I find that the longer it stays on my face, the more natural it gets.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. I find myself not needing anything heavier. When my skin tone wasn't as good I used NARS. I am pale, but not pink so its hard for me to find a decent color match.

I think a good foundation for combo skin w/products would be a mineral one so that it can help mattify product and help with oily areas. I personally like Prescriptives All Skin's Mineral Veil because of the color selection and great finish. It can still be purchased from the Prescriptives website (NA).

I am oily, and have been using Jane Iredale. Very silky - don't get flakies like with other mineral foundations. When I need a little moisture, I use the Jane Iredale whipped tinted moisturizer, which is oil free.

Another vote for Estee Lauder Double Wear. (pressed compact version) It evens out my complexion nicely and provides a physical sunblock.

I would love to try Jane Iredale, however I don't know what shade I would use. Does anyone know where in the GTA I can find a Jane Iredale carrier so I can find the perfect shade and then order them online?

Hi Syndi222

Here's a link for a Spa in the Ontario area that carries a wide selection of Jane Iredale.

http://www.asklepion.ca/aesthetics/mineral_make-up.html

They may be able to ship you some color samples.
