You look wonderful! I often notice people's teeth, perhaps because I have had so much work done to straighten my teeth and correct my bite. Your teeth are beautiful, they look young, too! |

Thanks, I occasionally whiten them with an at home kit - about once/year.
I also forgot to mention that I do at home TCA peels a couple times/year.
I only started taking care of my skin about 5-6 years ago.
I suffered many terrible sunburns as a child, a teenager and young adult - even on my face .
I was once hospitalized for severe sunburn on my face and arms(scares me to think of it).
In my thirties, I had two small spots of hyperpigmentation removed on the left side of my face - all attributed to driving - I call that the driving side of my face - that side has aged quite a bit more than the other side.

You are looking great! We are about the same age, I am fifty in June...eekkk!!
Obviously what you are doing is working great for you. Do you mind me asking what sort of peels you do? I am going to start doing some peels this year I think.
Your skin looks plump and strong, which is great. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. It really helps to see other people our age so we can sort of see whats what, if you know what I mean? |

Thanks BFG..I am going to try a Lactic Acid one, I have dry skin. What precentage did you start with? I am going to do a 35%. Is it true you have to stop any Retin A for at least 2 weeks before a peel?
Sorry for all the questions! |

No problem, I use Retin A up to a couple days before a peel - but that's me - I have "toughened" my skin over the years, lol.
Also, I use the lowest concentration of TCA - 8% because I would rather add another layer than take a chance of permanently causing a problem by using a higher percentage.

You look so amazing!
We seem to have similar skin and are addressing similar issues.
We have been going to so many "turning 50" parties this year and it is amazing all the different ranges of how their skin looks. Now that I am turning 50 also this year, I am trying to stay on that Retin-A band wagon!
How long have you been doing the Retin-A?
Thanks for the inspiration! |
