If you're like me (and I know many of you are ), you spend oodles of money on skincare products and devices only to be let down that they don't work, even though they got rave reviews from other users (Shakeweight is one that comes to mind ).
Which product did you buy that you thought wouldn't work but bought anyway as a "last resort"?
For me is was RapidLash. I almost stopped using it because after 6 weeks, I saw absolutely no difference in my lashes. I remember thinking, "Great, another product to throw in the trash, along with the money I spent on it!" But, for some reason, I reluctantly decided to just use it up. Lo and behold, in week 7 or 8 my lashes finally got the message and started to grow! Not Tammy Faye long, mind you, and Mabelline wouldn't be calling me for one of it's maybe-she's-born-with-it ads, but long enough for me to notice.
I'm now using Careprost in hopes that it will get them even longer than the RapidLash did. I've been doing it for 3 weeks now and think I see some added length, but I need to give it more time for sure to be certain.
So which was your Hey-this-stuff-actually-works product? |

I would have to say the instant eye tuck from EES. I had just come off of paying a fortune (at the time) for Freeze 24/7's product that claimed to do the same thing and so, of course, I was a bit skeptical about the Eye Tuck because the Freeze 24/7 pretty much sucked.
I tell ya, I have never been more happy about the ability of a product in my life. I was literally blown away upon first application...albeit I got the flakies for the first few weeks, but I saw what it could do and I was gonna make damn sure I got the application down pat. This is my total hallelujah product
Might I add that this is the first product that my exact words were "Holy sh*t" upon first application ...I then quickly called my sister to share the news |

LOL...your post made me smile. I have been reading more and more about this Eye Tuck from EES. Now, is it primarily for bags or dark circles or both?
My husband has both and has been using SkinCeuticals Eye Cream for many months for his inheritated dark circles and we've both noticed it lightening a bit. Well, he actually thinks it's lightened a lot. As he so delicately puts it, "I'm happier than a dog with two Peters."
But it would be wonderful to find a product for him that did a better job as minimizing the dark circles AND reduced the bags.
Glad you are having such success with it. |

Will defintely look into the instant eye tuck from EES. Thanks for the recommendation, bren21!
For me, I have to say (apart from Obagi, of course!) it's Perricone Acyl Glutahthione - both the face and upper eyelid versions. The eyelid one has really smoothed out the skin and lifted my eyelid area and the one for the face has erased a crease I had coming below the right-hand corner of my bottom lip as well as giving an overall smoothness and glow. |

Tefla, right now I'm doing an test with two different eye creams. I'm using the more expensive DDF Advanced Eye Firming Cream on my left eye (the lid on that eye is a little more droopy on that eye for some reason) and the less expensive bareMinerals Firming Eye Treatment on my right eye. Both creams claim to firm up crepey lids, so we'll see if one does a better job than the other or anything at all. If not, I may give the Dr. Perricone you are using a try.
BCgirl, how long have you been using Latisse and when did you start to see it start working? Before you did notice it working, did you think like I had with the RapidLash...that nothing was going to happen?
Thanks for all your replies everyone. It's always nice to hear about products that work for people. |

Right now, Priori Perfection Facial Gel.
I have dehydrated combination skin, and I tried many many different products to combat either the breakouts or the dehydration. And none worked for both.
So i had to either live with breakouts, or dryness, and i was at my wits end.
Then i got introduced to this product, and my skin hasnt been the same since.
My breakouts stopped, and the tight feeling around my forehead from dehydration stopped.
Within the first 2-3 days, i felt the results.
Havent broken out in a few months since i first used it. |

Glad you got a little laugh out of that, might I say you're husbands quote gave me a bit of a chuckle as well!
The EES is supposed to treat circles and bags...not sure if it is just one or the other that treats the dark circles or if it is both together that does the trick as I don't have dark circles nor do I use the Illuminating Cream. I just have the droop, crepey, tear trough trouble. Thankfully I don't have bags either, I use the tuck merely for tightening purposes and getting rid of my troughs. I know that people with severe eye bags don't have much luck with the tuck, but for those of you have mild to moderate it should work great. I can't comment on how it works on dark circles though. |

Glad you found a product that finally worked for you. My girls break out some, so this may be helpful to them.
Bren, I'm afraid it may not help my husband then. His bags are pretty bad. But I still may try it for the dark circles if it comes out cheaper than the SkinCeuticals. |

I should point out that Nanci over at NCN sells a half sample size of the Tuck for around $38 if you don't want to shell out the full $70-$80 for the full size out of the gate. I actually buy the half size myself. It lasts quite a long time. |

it probably took a good 2 months before i noticed results. Patience is key for these products. |

Just wanted to mention that for me Tuck did not help with the bags, but made my slightly darker eyelids so dark, that I looked like a cobra - with 2 very dark bag surrounded eyes. Try a sample first. |

Clinique's All About the Eyes. It worked for my eye bags (haven't found anything yet that works on the upper lid).
Estee Lauder ANR Concentrate and Chantecaille's Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask. Both of these products are really quick at diminishing redness. |

Don't forget our deal, if either of us find a cream/serum that actually works for upper lids we tell one another!
Then we will of course share with all on EDS!!! |

Philosophy Eyes Wide Open™ Instant Refreshing and Depuffing Eye Gel!
I was shocked with how well this product works. No other eye cream I've used has depuffed my eyes as well as this, except for NVP's Advanced Eye Area Therapy, and that worked only for a few months then stopped having any effect. Maybe this will do likewise, but I am satisfied with it for now.
It doesn't instantly depuff, but after a while my undereye puffiness is gone. So I'm happy! |

I just realized I lost the top to my tuck and then read that doing so diminishes the ability of the tuck. Well that'll teach me. I love the tuck too. |

Snail cream! Someone on another forum mentioned using snail cream, so I tried an Aqua Cell sample from Missha I had been too squeamish to try. My skin felt wonderful for three days or more afterwards!
Also, I tried NeoCell Super Collagen after an Oprah show just for a lark. Three years later I am still loving it! Holds moisture in the skin, firms and tightens. |

Have to agree with the Chantecaille Jasmine and Liky mask. I was so suprised at how well it removes dead skin! |

Another thumbs up for Neocell Super Collagen here! Love that stuff and take it daily. |

For me it was the ISC (now Phyto-C
) Proheal and Active Serums, changed my skin in a few weeks time. I went from blah to getting so many compliments. Staple of my skin care now.
Recently, DDF Advanced Eye Firming Concentrate. Now my holy grail of eye creams after a 7 year hunt. I had really liked Bobbie Brown's as well, but this is so much more for me. Used it on my hubby's under eye bags and literally watched them firm up, he was amazed! Pricey, but a little goes a looonngggg way.
I do love Hydra Cool Serum as well, but a cheaper subsitute can be used from time to time.
Argan Oil is another, so many uses. I have noticed the hubby stealing a few drops from time to time for the dry skin on his arms from golfer's tan. |
