Hi,
I am 33 and have very fair skin, which is combination but can be prone to dehydration. I currently use MD Forte cleanser Am/Pm, a Vitamin C serum and B5 serum Am with Kinerase followed by sunscreen in the morning and MD Forte eye cream in the evening with MD Forte Rejuvenating lotion in the evening (possibly with Silkia Camelia Oil over the top if my skin feels dry). I can break out on my T zone if I use greasy/heavy products.
I would like to add a mask to my routine that will soothe and moisturise without making me breakout - any suggestions please?
Thanks!!! |

I really like Origins Drink Up for a moisturizing mask. It isn't too heavy and the results are almost immediate. |

Sorry, I can't help with the mask question, I haven't tried any yet.
I'm curious though, how long have you been using the MD Forte products and how do you like them? The other night I was at a party and was talking to a 58 year old lady who has amazing skin and attributes it to the MD Forte Rejuvenating Lotion III and the eye cream.

I have a few moisturising masks that I really like. Dr Hauschka Rejuvenating Mask, Thalgo Moisture Quenching Mask and Babor Moist'n'Fresh are all pretty good in my books. I think I have read someone comment that the Dr H made them breakout, I have had no problems with it and I leave it on for ages. Different skins will react differently though - I am not prone to breakouts in general.
ETA: I just remembered that I once had this blue DDF gel mask (Hydra Comfort Mask) and that was really nice. I bought the full size because the sample I tried gave a bit of a tingly/minty feeling but I didn't feel much of that when I used it on a regular basis. It was a very good gel mask though (it's supposed to be moisturising and soothing) and it was suitable for all skin types. It also wasn't too expensive which is a nice bonus |

Thanks for the recommendations ladies! I will have a look and see what takes my fancy!
Freefall, I LOVE MD Forte!!! I've been using glycolic skincare for about 3 years now, I started on MD Formulations after I received some samples with an order I had made for some BE mineral makeup. It was good but after a chat to a local skin specialist I decided to up to the MD Forte Level 2. As I am very sunsensitive I use the Forte 2 in the winter and drop to MD Formulations or Forte Level 1 in the summer as it has a lower concentration of glycolic acid. (although I use the Forte Level 2 cleanser am/pm all year). My only word of caution is too build up usage gradually (I started by using the cleanser once a day using a glycolic free the other time, then upto twice then gradually added in the other products, this was what I was recommended to do by the specialist to allow my skin to adjust. Apart from the cleanser which I use twice a day, I use the other Forte products only in the evening now, as maintenance. The results have been great - I think my skin is better than it was in my early 20's - it's cetainly hasn't been this clear since my early teens, I get very few breakouts these days and since reading the recommendations to add use Vit C in the morning I feel happy to go make-up free for the first time in a LONG time!
Hope that helps and makes some kind of sense!!:O) |
