Hello, everyone.I'm 22 years old.I used to do tanaka facial massage for a few months one year ago.I did this because it claims to reduce facial fat. That's what I want.I gave more massage to the upper cheek(midface)area.Unfornately,I find my midface much more hollow than before.I myself think my facial fat distribution is uneven and my face isn't smooth. Can facial massage cause uneven fat distribution if I overdo it topically?Or can it cause topical facial fat or volume loss? If so,will my face return to its former state when I stop doing the massage? When we gain weight,we gain fat on the entire body.If I gain fat on the midface areas,I will definitely gain fat on other parts of my face too.As a result,my midface will still look hollow compared with other areas on the face.Am I right? |

Oh Felicity it breaks my heart to read you posting here as well too. I know you from another forum and seriously honey you are being way too harsh on yourself with your comments. Your photos show you as a really young and pretty girl. Yes you overdid tanaka, but you’re not the only one and many people have done. I think from memory you kind of only did it on your middle face yes? Well that to me is why its become an issue because you only did it in one place. Kind of like if I only exercised my legs or arms, they would tone up and look different than rest of my body – well the same is true for your face. I don’t think massage is unreversable, like facial exercises – you got to keep up doing them to maintain results and if you don’t things do revert back to their former state but I seem to remember there was other things like diet that you were going to change.
I do not think the answer is to gain weight, and you’d be surprised by how many experts out there are saying that gaining weight isn’t necessarily a good thing because there is no guarantee that you will gain it back on your face, you may gain it first a lot on tummy or legs for example. I think also being at such a young age, you can relax and know time is on your side.
Diet changes take time to show up – believe me I know that better than anyone and I’m near enough to just about 3 times your age! Ha ha, but its true. I’ve made diet changes at several times during my life and you never get results overnight |

Dear theresamary, forgive me to bother you again.Another question. If my problem is caused by rapid weight loss and yo-yo dieting, can my face return to its former state natrually? |

Felicity the problem bothers you and only you though honey, seriously look at what happened when you posted your photos, you got some lovely comments and you seem to ignore them and in reality the only person who seems to focus on them repetitively is you. Its not going to do you any justice or resolve it by constantly focusing on it, because you seem to really pull it out of all proportions. You made changes to you diet, which made me so happy because i know this will change things, but you got to give it longer than 3 weeks sweetie, seriously.
I don't think anyone can answer your second question with full guarantee, but if you stop doing those unhealthy things that have been mentioned to you several times, then things will change again, and for the better I'm sure.
Seriously don't let yourself become neurotic over this, because its not going to make you a happy girl and at such a young age its not healthy to become obsessive about these things honestly! |

Because what I wanted to say was confidential.
I would have thought that was blindingly obvious.
This correspondence is now closed. |

That was rather rude and uncalled for. TheresaMary was only offering to help. |

Wow that was uncalled for. I'm glad the correspondence is closed because I wouldn't want to talk with you after that outburst!

Yes, developing those now will help you so much later on, and you'll probably avoid many of the issues that us older girls do!
