These 2 products really do different things, so it's hard to put them in the same category. I actually use both for what they do. |

I voted for Retin A. I think it has helped my skin texture with long term use. I did use CP for over 2 years and never did see any difference in my skin. I still have some and use them off and on just because I don't want to throw them away. I was lucky I never suffered any "uglies" but never got any results either.
My second or other choice would be a Vit C product. I use Mad Hippie right now but have used a lot of different brands over the years. It has helped even out my skin tone and help with my acne. I also think it is good addition to help with sun protection (along with sunscreen) but there are varying opinions on that.
As far as helping with wrinkles that are already formed unless they are very shallow or your skin is suffering from dehydration I haven't really ever seen a serum or other product totally get rid of wrinkles. I do think they can help prevent some but some wrinkles are just genetics and getting older. |

Thanks Cookie. Your advice is much appreciated.
I will get some retin-a. I used it for a while but then I ran out and never re-filled my prescription.
I have fine lines on my forehead that are quite shallow, that I would like to get rid of.
Also nasolabial folds that facial exercising has made firmer but not gotten rid of.
I saw the post on the cleo, thanks for that. The only machine though as far as I have seen that will truly help dramatically is a CACI machine but it is ridiculously expensive!
I was reading that you pay for brand and repute and that probably you could find a chinese equivalent for an eighth of the price, but hard to find because of trust issues and guarantees that it will work! Anyway I go off on a tangent.
Thanks for the advice.
I have been doing honey + yogurt + aspirin mask that has worked well for skin tone but will try vitamin C and retin A as you recommend.
I tried CPs briefly but using very low concentrations as my skin is very delicate. But I never saw a difference.
I also recently started reusing Avene's eluage which has retinal in it, (I used it a few years back and would always get compliments on my skin). The retinaldehyde in Eluage is only in small concentrations to get my skin used to the retinal again because I have very sensitive skin. |

VirginiaWhite, I am sure you know especially since you have used Retin A before, that it can irritate your skin. So go slow with introducing back it into your routine. If you want to go with a little lower dose product SkinMedica Tri retinol is good and so is SkinCeuticals retinol. You can buy travel sizes of both of these at Skinmedix for a pretty good price. They also sell Avene there. |

I voted Retin-A because I haven't used CP yet. I love and hate the retin-a. I love that my skin feels firmer and smoother, I hate that I seem to get a pimple every few days from it. |
