Is there such a thing that can be worn every day and actually nourish the skin (I'm speaking from the POV of reading the ingredient lists in most chemical sunscreens which sound more like a recipe for industrial glue!)? You may have read my posts and I will openly admit that I am very paranoid about sun damage/pigmentation and I do have a very damaging self image issue which I am trying to get help for. That said I am still keen to try and find a sunscreen that will tick the (many) boxes that I have come up with through reading many articles and reviews on this and other sites. My major skin problem is seborrheic dermatitis and I hope that I will be able to find a sunscreen/moisturiser with sunscreen that will either help my SD to improve or at least not make it any worse. I believe Zinc Oxide is anti fungal so this may be effective. I have a distinct need for a daily moisturiser because of my tendency towards dryness/help my skin recover from shaving etc.
I was initially swayed by the Japanese formulations due to their very high protection factors (my goal, which may be more of a dream, is to get complete protection in a skin healthy formula which doesn't leave a strong white cast) but Firefox put me off when she described negative effects such as UV absorption into the skin. I began to look for physical sunscreens and I found a few which to my (untrained eye!) looked to be okay, reviews were positive, and there seemed to be healthy levels of the best physical blockers. I came up with these:
Vanicream Sensitive Skin (different SPF ratings from 30 to 60, has ZO and TD)
Solbar Zinc Sun Protection Cream SPF 38
Solar Sense Clear Zinc Lotion SPF50
I would be interested in any experiences that you may have had with these products. I will let you know which one I go for! |

I have only tried the Vanicream from your list and it seems pretty good. |

I don't know anything about the 3 you've listed, but you might want to check out Image Skincare daily defense. all physical blocks, no white cast. 3 different forumaltions for different skin types. much thinner and less sticky than their previous version.
there's also a new "MD" line version only avail to professionals.
after searching quite a bit myself, I think this is the best option for sensitive skin, non-chemical daily moisture/anti-aging. |

update: it's been a couple hours since I put the spf 35 version on over my usual serums and it feels just a little tacky if I touch my face. otherwise, I'm unaware of it.
doesn't sting my eyes. amazon listing seems to have the whole ingredient list. |
