I believe makeup is definitely different for different people and I've modeled before and there were a few times that I actually enjoyed how my make-up was done and thought the products were good for my skin and tone. Those times, I even enjoyed wearing the products on my face. I rarely asked the make-up artists what they were using because it's always a lot of stuff and I don't want to bother them with all those details when they are doing their work. I also kind of feel weird prying about it. Recently, I finally asked a make-up artist what she was using and she seemed a bit secretive about it. Silly me, I forgot what she said!!! I remember she said it's theatrical make-up and then she said it was called Make Up....something. Like perhaps make-up studio or make-up effects? It was not Make-Up Forever. It's not something I think you can buy in stores like Sephora, it's more professional make-up than that. I'm not sure and wish I could remember! Does anyone know what make-up she could have been talking about??
This got me thinking though that make-up artists sure do know some awesome products so I wonder if there are any who go on this forum and if you can offer up some awesome product recommendations?? I wish I had been asking MUA's their product recommendations instead of being shy about it. Now, I'm on the look out for awesome moisturizer (for under makeup), primer, foundation, concealer, powder, highlighter, good eyebrow set for light blondes, and any other recommendations from make up artists! I hope some make up artists's are on here and will chime in with some great product recommendations. Thank you! |

There really aren't make up artists on here? Does anyone know a good makeup artist forum of some sort then? |

I took makeup as part of my esthetic course many many years ago. I worked at Carol Baker Visage and applying makeup was part of my job.
I would go to makeupalley.com forum. Go the makeup section. These women are crazy about makeup. There is a lot of MAC fans but they do like other brands.
I am also a big fan of mineral makeup and there is a lot of forums for that also. |
