| When I wear nail polish for a long time, my nails develop a yellow tint. Is that due to the toxic ingredients in certain polishes (toluene, DBP, formaldehyde), to the lack of using a base coat or does every nail polish has that effect if you wear it too frequently ? |

This is usually caused by one of two reason. The first and most likely reason is that you are wearing a lot of dark polishes. Even with a base coat, it can sometimes stain your nails yellow. Secondly, if you don't wear a base coat it most definitely will happen with a dark color. If you only like to wear dark polishes, I'd suggest applying two coats of base coat first.
To get the yellow off you nails, soak in lemon juice for 5 minutes. If they are still yellow, gentle buff them with a blue buffer. |

Thank you for the tips ! I didn't know you could actually get rid of it. I thought I had to wait until it grew out... I will definitely try the lemon juice soak.  |
