I think I'd like to get a PH meter for when I start DIYing. And just because, now I want to find out the PH of all my products LOL! I saw one on bulkactives. Has anyone tried that one and if so, do you like it etc.? And does anyone know of any others available? TIA |

TBH, So far with making serums and other things that are not pH dependent I have managed with pH test strips, but BA is a very reliable supplier, as is LC if they have one that is reasonable! |

Thank you DM. Is a PH meter more reliable etc. than PH strips? Which out of the two do you prefer to use? I want to test the PH of all my products as well as use it for some DIY that requires it. |

pH test strips (litmus paper) are very helpful if you need a ballpark figure. If you are needing to do adjustment - adding an acid or alkali dropwise as you stir - or a tight range or testing something 'awkward' like a thick cream you would be better off with a meter. Note that oils do not have a pH.

For anything thicker than a fairly thin serum you need a meter, the strips are fine IMO for any "liquids"! I may invest in one some day soon. |

Thank you to both of you! It looks like I'll need a PH meter then! At least maybe it'll come in handy in case anyone wants to know the PH of a product that I might just happen to have! |

I plan on comparison shopping before buying one, you may even find a great one on Amazon or Ebay! |
