I think I'd like to get a PH meter for when I start DIYing. And just because, now I want to find out the PH of all my products LOL! I saw one on bulkactives. Has anyone tried that one and if so, do you like it etc.? And does anyone know of any others available? TIA Very Happy

TBH, So far with making serums and other things that are not pH dependent I have managed with pH test strips, but BA is a very reliable supplier, as is LC if they have one that is reasonable! Smile

Thank you DM. Is a PH meter more reliable etc. than PH strips? Which out of the two do you prefer to use? I want to test the PH of all my products as well as use it for some DIY that requires it.

pH test strips (litmus paper) are very helpful if you need a ballpark figure. If you are needing to do adjustment - adding an acid or alkali dropwise as you stir - or a tight range or testing something 'awkward' like a thick cream you would be better off with a meter. Note that oils do not have a pH.

For anything thicker than a fairly thin serum you need a meter, the strips are fine IMO for any "liquids"! Smile I may invest in one some day soon.

Thank you to both of you! It looks like I'll need a PH meter then! At least maybe it'll come in handy in case anyone wants to know the PH of a product that I might just happen to have! Very Happy

I plan on comparison shopping before buying one, you may even find a great one on Amazon or Ebay!

Yes EG,

Ebay, Amazon, Overstock.com....many places to comparison shop indeed!

I would even check on here:

Just enter pH meter in the search! Very Happy
