Hello
Thanks for being patient, I know a thread was started about ultrasound, but I still am looking for specific users of these less expensive machines, and reviews/feedbacks. I am not plunking down 400-600 bucks on something right now, waiting on NCN (Nanci) gadget.

Has anyone used the Ib3 ultrasounds, anything from Bellaire industry, Brite Leaf. etc? Do you feel they are worth it, what have they done for your skin? I am not specifically looking for toning, plumping, lifting skin, rather than changing texture re acne, spots.etc since my skin is good. The TUA TREND did not work too well and caused me issues to do neurological issues..due to my own issues, not blaming the machine. I liked it, it did not like me. I would love a face and body ultrasound...but may just go for face for now. I am not looking for a spatula/scrubber ...more multi use...face/body.

Reviews anyone? I am looking for simple, not complex, and not a lot of prep or attachments. Thats why some of the products on Ib3 health look interesting. I would like Facemate but not sold in US. I am in the US. Also, funny, it seems the less I do, the better I am. I stopped Tua after injury to face, eased up on CP's and am just using a serum (Source Naturals I think) and some Lightstim here and there, and look less BLAH, lol

Any comments would be great. I was eager for STOP/POSE but they are so expensive and the reviews are just not great.

thanks-if we could start a simple list with product name-and result that would help a lot. I am having hard time searchign whole site since I have migraines/ear infection, and head injury right now. GREAT I KNOW, lol....I'm sexy and I know it, ha ha
have a great weekend everyone....excuse the typing, I cant see well.

Check out truthinaging.com. There is a new led/ultrasound device just out for 89.00. Ive ordered one. You can use plain water or serum or gel as the conductor. Im all for cheap and not having to buy all the extras. I figure for 89.00 i can deal with that!!!

I had the Bellaire HS-3040 (about $150) which supposedly helps actives penetrate more deeply. But it was beyond boring to use, so I sold it.

The only gadgets I have personally seen improvement from are the Safetox and the dermaroller (if you are into pain). I do own the STOP, but wasn't overly impressed with it.

So sorry to hear you are under the weather, I hope you get well quickly. ((hugs))

DragoN is using an ultrasound gadget at present - I *think* face and body but might have mixed one thread up with another - and it's safe to say she will have done her science homework. She is super helpful but does talk in riddles sometimes! I will PM her and ask her to pop by.

I appreciate all her posts, often find myself trying to solve the puzzle and end up saying to myself "so...the bottom line is?"

Do hope she comes back to assist.

I'd also like to know in more detail if she only uses that device, how she uses it and what the ingredients of her DIY gel are. She is a bottomless well of compulsively researched and up to date information.

The led/ultrasound is called Ultra Renew. I have been looking at the tripollar pose which i know is RFand the cost closer to $500 - and not necessarily with a return policy with yr money back. And of course u have to use their special gel. With the Ultra Renew u can use water, gel or serum. For $89 i'll give it a try!!!

I am with you on this I need to wait since I have been so bad, but you really can't beat that price!

If it is boring to use I am not surprised one would not feel anything with ultrasound, after a number for prenatal purposes all I felt was cold gel and a intense desire to get done and empty my bladder! Laughing

I saw the Ultra Renew also and was interested because it is a 3 Mhz which is spot on for use on the face... However, in terms of price, I did a little sleuthing on the Net.

It appears to me that the Ultra Renew is *very* similar (if not the same manufacturer) as other face ultrasound/ LED units and you can get those slight less expensively.

Check out for the La Cerise unit for $69.99 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Photon-Light-Green-Ultrasound-Massager/dp/B007RFEXQS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336881358&sr=8-1

And for $63.20 (but higher shipping) check out New Spa's unit: http://www.amazon.com/Photon-Light-Green-Ultrasound-Massager/dp/B002JPPU1I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336881577&sr=8-1

I could easily be wrong, but these look exactly the same to me. When I was a working esty, I know that a lot of our "expensive day spa" products were all coming from the same manufacturer that sold lines on skin-etc.com (and btw, I would actually buy my personal products from there because it was cheaper than my employee discount!!).

Sooo, long story cut short I bought the first unit by La Cerise! Laughing Plus some ultrasound gel because the Truth in Aging website recommended using a conducting gel on top of your serums. I've heard aloe wasn't quite as good a conductor so I went with the medical stuff. OH boy, here she goes again! Laughing

LOL. You are so right they all do look the same! That is common practice for many electronics, I know my father owned an electronic wholesale/retail distributorship and people would be shocked to know how many brand names were actually manufactured by the same large firm! Laughing

<Shaking head> My Valley Girl is coming out because all I can say is, "Dude! This has to stop!"

And it will. I get in these phases where I am temporarily obsessed with X and then in a few months, I'm over it. My last big obsession was shoes. I mean Fluevogs and quirky brands with luscious wedges, 4 inchers... Le sigh.

My paycheck was simply paying for my wardrobe. Laughing Now, I can't even imagine spending that much money on clothes. I can't exactly say that I still don't lust after some favorite shoe brands. Wink

But back on task: I ordered a few days ago. Have not received the unit yet but did receive the ultrasound gel. Now that the LED thing is so up in the air I will probably just use the ultrasound part but still for that price at that Mhz, it's a pretty safe bet money wise. I know the Bellaire u/s units are much more expensive. I don't know if there's a reason for that or not.

We shall see how things pan out... because if it doesn't give me some results I am sending it back! Laughing

It's not easy to find the ultrasound without the LED. I will absolutely not have that, even when they are cheaper.

Noticed on myself, definite lift in the upper eye lid. The gel is the easiest thing to make and you don't wash it off. I don't see the point in using a silicon based gel that needs to be washed. I want the goodies.

3 Mhz is focused a couple mm below the skin, more heat is generated. 1 Mhz can penetrate up to 2 cm and less heat generated. Lips feel a tingle with treatment, which makes sense. The unit is 1 Mhz, 0.4 J/cm2. Really do like this thing. Lips are fuller and I have full lips to begin with. I hope it will save me from the impending jowls as I age. Supposedly useful for skin laxity, however they were using 45 Khz and that is deep penetration. Ultherapy was using 3 and 7 Mhz. Up to 1.2 J/cm2.

I use the unit every second day. Everyday? There are no tested and researched protocols on the use. I will play it safe. Over doing it isn't worth finding out the hard way. Skindream is everyday for 10 minutes at 1 Mhz and 0.5 -1.0 J/cm2. Then reduce the use later. But no trials available. The before and after pics for skin laxity are impressive, but that's advertising as well.

Bethany stated it was boring, true.but only 5 minutes and done. Less obnoxious than 0.5 mm dermaroller Wink ...and 1.5 mm is coming up on Friday. I cringe. But...the crazy stuff we do for eternal youth.

In my experience, it seems quite useful. Over time is the test. Ultrasound is not exactly new, and has a good track record. Like anything else, abuse it, and pay the price.

Sigma has some evidence that is contrary to the use of ultrasound and expressed reservation in another thread. I hope she will post that information here.

The LED and the ultrasound are used consecutively (not at the same time) and I have found that about 4 minutes of ultrasonic per side of the face, followed by 3-5 minutes of LED per side is adequate. Play around as time and inclination permits (LED alone, ultrasound alone, both treatments on just one area of the face). Three times a week is optimal. It can be used on hands, neck and decollete as well. I've seen research claiming that ultrasound elevates elbows and can raise brow height by 2mm in just one session.

Since the two can't be used at the same time for the price why not? No one has to use the LED portion!

I have nothing scientific, just an anecdotal evidence - salesmen demonstrating the therapeutic medical ultrasound on their left hand had substantial damage to ligaments/connective tissue (could move the fingers with an effort) - I do not have any characteristics regarding the units they were demonstrating, but that I can probably find out. I also know that it took a few years of demos to get to that point. Do not know how relevant it is either, but just wanted to mention.

DragoN - which machine do you use and where can one buy it? Do you see any concerns with Skindream Titanium? Mine was bought at 50% off, tried for a bit, and no results. I even had to check that the machine is not defective (simple to do basic check - water and you get bubbles), and it does work. I think the gel that came with it was ineffective, and I am planning to make one of yours with tons of good stuff.

Kandis from Lips2kiss had also seen fantastic results with ultrasound - eye bags and double chin (both are a big issue for me).

So I am very interested but have some concerns.

Could you please find out? I would really appreciate that.

Valid concerns!! I didn't have that information prior to you mentioning it, and that's why I hope you can get the details for me. I haven't come across it in the literature, but it makes sense that over stimulation over a period of time could cause that. More is not better! And Skindream also and pretty much every other source, starts with a daily treatment and then reduction of treatment over time...there's a reason for that!

The uber gel is disgustingly lovely. Smile So dirt simple to make and so many permutations possible for better effect. Endless.

How long did you use it? The gel...hmmm...is only a coupling agent. A nicer gel pounding goodies into the skin would definitely be better though.

We'll work on this and solve the problem. But don't toss that machine! The titanium is ruddy pricey!!! The transducer on that is the $$$.

I would probably just use the ultrasound too as I have a baby q and only use it maybe 1 time wk if that. I'm just interested in the ultrasound at this point.

I want to try it (ultrasound) on my inner arms. I've lost 10-15# and it is so flabby/crepey/wrinkly that I'm about ready to gain the weight back. I'm 56 and had alittle of the crepey under/inner arm anyway without the weightloss and had vaser shape 3 times last summer. WASTE of money!!! Of course they said I had "subtle" results - how about NONE????? I was looking at the tripolar pose and I know it's RF also but thought maybe if I used it long-term and regular maybe it would end up working....ha, right??? But didn't want to take the chance spending the money for the Pose. Do you think I'd have any luck with it on my arms (the ultrasound)?

DragoN - what is the gel you make? Is there a thread somewhere? And what is the ultrasound device that you use?

Since the unit we have been discussing can't use the LED and ultrasound at the same time (only consecutively as DarkMoon pointed out), this seems like an affordable, workable option. I am not planning on using the LED portion, but having it sit there unused cannot be causing damage, can it? DragoN please let us know if not and why...

Also, I had read that 1 Mhz should not be used on the face? This is from the Bellaire site:

http://www.bellaireindustry.com/handhelds.html

Quote:
* Please be aware that there are companies who market handheld probes that are said to provide 1, 2, and 3 MHz frequencies all in one handheld device. Unless these are medical-grade devices, this is false advertising. Most likely, the handheld device is a 1 MHz probe with a low, medium, and high setting and if used on the face, can end up damaging your client's skin. *

P.S. I would like to know the unit you are using and the gel you make as well... Thanks!

Thanks!

As far as the gel I believe DragoN posted her DIY version here:

I have been considering an ultrasound device but I'm confused now because I thought 1 Mhz shouldn't be used on face....although less heat sounds like a good thing. Will have to delve into this more.

DragoN, I hope you keep us updated on your ultrasound experience & progress.

Sigma, I too am really interested to know more details about the salesman.
