Hi, I have been reading through a number of posts here and was wondering if any of you ladies know the best product (of if one is available) to use to repigment white spots. I had sun damage on my chest, had gotten IPL (intense pulse light) treatments that were too strong, and now i have horrible white spots all over my chest. Also some scars that are very smooth, just white.
I heard about SuperCop and the Therma roller. Does anyone have good experience with any product in repigmenting scars / white spots?
Thanks!! |

There is a testimonial on owndoc.com from a woman that had the same issue as you (from IPL) and was able to correct it using a dermaroller.
Just make sure that you follow the correct rolling protocol with Vit A and C, and you should be able to fix the situation.

Thank you Bethany. I spent a bunch of time on the derma rolling site you mention below, and saw that picture - was very excited.
Have you tried derma rolling and if so did you have luck? I am now cautious - after the negative experiences that left scars (both the IPL and the pigmentation transplant).
Also, on the site there are negative comments about the 2nd generation of copper peptides. I think that is the supercop product that everyone is talking about. Does it work?
Thanks again |

Welcome! There are a couple of lengthy threads on dermarolling on the EDS 'Skincare Tools & DIY' board. I agree with Bethany that vitamin A and C are likely to be effective and represent a low risk. You might run an advanced search on copper peptides here and on Skincaretalk forum, some users report great results whilst others report worsening skin. |

The white spots sound like hypopigmentation. There isn't anything out that I know of that can put pigment back in the skin. I have a few areas of hypopigmentation on my cheek. The only thing that helped was using Hydroquinone to help lighten the surrounding area, which helps the white spots blend in. Have you talked to a derm about the hypopigmented areas? |

I have personally not had hypopigmentation issues, but have had luck eliminating wrinkles with dermarolling utilizing Vit A and C, so it can definitely rejuvenate skin if you do it correctly.
And I can not recommend copper peptides, as I did experience the dreaded uglies. However many people are fans...if you use them, go VERY slowly. |

Thank you both for your replies.
I have been using PS serum and then Supercop on these for the past 3 months. I have not noticed a difference. The skin itself is smooth and does not look bad, I just do not see the results from these products. Plus, they are irritating and every once in a while I have to take a day off from them. However, I have seen all of the comments / feedback about these, so am uncertain if I should continue and give it more time.
In terms of a derm, yes I have been to many. I had the academic team at Henry Ford hospital do the pigment transplantation. There success rate is 70%. It did not work for me.
My chest looks very similar to the post from the link above, the before photo on that link you sent me, so she had good results at least.
I did try a process called Carboxy about one year ago. That actually helped quite a bit, and it reduce the stretch marks on my back by about 60%. It is done in a doc's office. A mild very small injections of (I think CO2) that stimulates collegan. My skin - it looks great.I still had white spots those, but much better than I do now.
The doc lost the staff member who was doing it. It was a simple light injection in the areas needed.
Anyway, if any one else has feedback about getting pigmentation back in skin - use of supercop or other similar products, please let me know. Thanks!! |

Hi Crissie,
Have you talked to the people at skin biology about your spots and using Cps? I use them on my face, but I know that for me, the Super Cop is too strong for me to use on my chest.
It does take a long time to see results with them, too, and they don't work for everyone. |
