I do see the original formula on Amazon, but the list I posted is from their site, I noticed the packaging is also different now. |

It's really just the 'unstable' L-ascorbic acid, in an aqueous solution, that presents a problem when exposed to the metal ions in things like green tea.. MAP is stable, not pH dependant and it's typically used in <5% concentration.
On another note, regarding the ingredient list discrepancy, I wonder if they ever sorted this complaint out?

That stinks! I wonder why they changed the formula? I found a different serum that looks promising...by a company called Cosmetic Skin Solutions...it's a 20% concentration and has ferulic acid:
Water, Ethoxydiglycol, L-Asorbic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Laureth-23, Alpha Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Ferulic Acid, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate.
How does that oone look? |

I normally make my own bullet, but some members do use this brand. It is obviously LAA instead of MAP so fine as long as your skin is not overly sensitive!
Another option I have trialed and works quite well is from skin actives, you just mix the LAA into the serum close and shake, wait a while to make sure all is dissolved and good to go! It can be made up to 20% or less if you add less powder! 1 oz. is only 15.50$ and has CEF and other antioxidants.

Dark Moon:
I bought the skin actives one yesterday! lol I bought the CSS one to take on vacation because I will not have access to refrigeration for 2 days so it can easier to travel with (I'm thinking it doesn't need refrigeration like the Skin Actives one does). I'm going to use the SA one as my daily though. |

I have been using the SA one for at least 3 weeks and so far it is fine, and if one does not wish to DIY it is a simple way to have a great C serum and know it is fresh when you mix it!
Did you also buy CHAS with MAP? That is a very good serum also!
ETA:
I have not kept my LAA serum refrigerated, and it is fine! |

OK, dumb question here..what is CHAS?
So, the SA one should be fine if not refrigerated?
That one looks to definitely be my go to serum..can't beat the price!
I did by the John Master's one too but don't know how much LAA is in it. It and the CSS one were highly recommended on the truth in aging site. |

You will be fine not refrigerating for a few days no question, I just have not kept mine in the refrigerator at all! I don't with my home made!

DM, what is CHAS? And do you mean they changed the name of that 20% mix it yourself serum?
bullet875, there's also Neostrata Vitamin C capsules that are 10% Vitamin C. There's 30 capsules in a jar. I heard those were good too. (Would be good for travel ) But not sure what % of Vitamin C you were after. |

EG the CHAS is what I posted the ingredients above for.
Antioxidant Serum with Glutaredoxin and SOD (CHAS)
The LAA serum from SA is so inexpensive and I have traveled with my DIY C serums all the time! |

What does CHAS stand for though? Is it an acronym?
If you say it's ok to travel with than it must be I'm not familiar with Vitamin C serums. I think with LAA you're just supposed to keep an eye on the color of the serum to ensure it hasn't gone bad right? Like if it's brown you shouldn't use it because oxidized Vitamin C is bad for your skin. |

I never actually knew what CHAS stood for to be honest! It is made with MAP derivative of Vitamin C.
I use my serums on hands chest wherever so I never have them long enough to worry about oxidation! That is the big benefit of DIY you can afford to use it anywhere and not spend a fortune! |

Exactly EG!,
For those who don't have the inclination SA offers very reasonable options which do have very good actives/antioxidants!
Compared to most LAA or MAP serums on the market these are a huge bargain for those individuals!

I just started using Philosophy's Miracle Worker for Dark Spots (literally just today...lol) and I'd like to use this cream in conjunction with and as maintenance after the Philosophy (which is expensive. Hopefully the Philos. and the Vit C serum will fade the spots and the UV cream, Vit C serum, and sunscreen will keep them away! |
