When you see this word on a food label, what does it mean to you?

Not always what I want it to! I saw a report recently that brown rice syrup often in "organic pre-made foods" contains high amounts of arsenic!
That is Organic, but I would rather not ingest it! |

For me, it means a food that was grown without the use of chemical pesticides or hormones. |

I agree on fresh foods, also not GMO! |

I think it is a roganic food label which is normally made of non- chemically made products. I'm not sure but I hope I am right |

Gillian McKeith who is a famous nutritionist over here, did an experiment on tv once, and she found that a lot of foods that were labelled organic weren't 100% so, but some were even low as 60-70%. Now she was really thorough in having it tested, and then went to a government official with that data, and he (shockingly I might add) said that it was completely legal and correct for the food to be labelled "organic" as half of it was organic. Apparently here in the UK the legislation isn't so tight that people only have to have above 50% in organic materials for it to be labelled organic. Shocking!!! |
