I saw a segment on the Doctors Show yesterday and they talked about this cream saying it was good for removing age spots.
*They also demonstrated the AALS!! Aren't we ahead of them on that one?!
You can view the segment here - hopefully it's the right one. If not - look under Epidsodes>Synopsis>Age Spots for the info

I didn't even look up the ingredients when I first posted this.
Did you see the before/after pics of that woman's arm showing the age spots disappearing. That's pretty impressive.
When I found the ingredients, most websites mentioned copper peptides as being in it.

Neova appears to make 2 different DNA Repair products. The first is DNA Total Repair, which retails for $95.00 for 1.7 oz. I believe this is the product that was shown in The Doctors TV video that Foxe linked to above. It does not contain any copper peptides. The ingredients are:
Water (Aqua), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Saccharide Isomerate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Pentylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Squalane, Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract, Micrococcus Lysate, Plankton Extract, Arabidopsis Extract, Ergothioneine, Algae Extract, Saccharomyces Ferment Lysate Filtrate, Cassia Alata Leaf Extract, Buddleja Davidii Extract, Pinus Pinaster, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Panthenol, Allantoin, Bisabolol, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Lecithin, Glycerin, Diglycerin, Polysorbate 60, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Camphor, Butylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol.
Neova also makes DNA Repair Factor Nourishing Lotion; it retails for $80 for 1.7 oz. It does contain a copper peptide (highlighted below) in addition to:
Water (Aqua), Cyclopentasiloxane, Petrolatum, Polysilicone-11, Gossypium Hirsutum (Cotton) Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 80, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium PCA, Betaine, Sorbitol, Glycine, Alanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Arginine, Lysine, Glutamic Acid, Alanine/Histidine/Lysine Polypeptide Copper HCl, Allantoin, Ceteareth-20, Polysorbate 60, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Soluble Collagen, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Trisodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum), Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool.
Neova products are made by ProCyte. I found the information for my post here:

The first one I posted is cheaper at that site than the second one. It was where are the CP's that had me wondering about the correct ingredients, but I see Lacy posted that correction.
The second site has this under the product listed, so I have to assume the one used on the show doesn't contain any copper peptides?
NEOVA DNA Total Repair as seen on The Doctors
NEW! DNA Total Repair offers the most advanced and powerful therapeutic intervention for UV-induced DNA damage. Formulated with three repair enzymes -Photolysomes, Endosomes and Mitosomes-all liposome encapsulated- the liposome delivery system has been specifically engineered for the transference of DNA repair enzymes across the stratum corneum and into the epidermal cells to enhance DNA repair of
UV irradiated skin.
Damaged DNA triggers a cascade of events, starting with stress signals and advancing through the stages of DNA damage. These events are repeated with each sun exposure, whether or not sunburn forms. After decades of similar damage-and-response cycles, discolorations, wrinkles and other signs of photodamage develop; therefore, repair and removal of sun-induced DNA damage is key for defense.
• Speeds recovery from previous sun-inflicted DNA damage.
• Intensifies the skin’s ability to self-correct to resist future photodamage.
• Diminishes the visible signs of DNA damage, such as fine lines, wrinkles and discolorations.
• Reduces the appearance of post-sunburn peeling. |

Sorry, not really. I bought it when it was the "it" product, but I think I only used it a month or so and it didn't do anything. However, I was using it on my face, and not on my neck/chest, which may have had some result from it. I could be way off base here with my comment, so I will try to find the ingredients to Remergent and post them in this thread, just to see if they are similar or not! |

foxe,
Hopefully the site is not using the clip from the show just for marketing? I can't be certain if they used the product listed or the one Lacy posted which has the CP's???
I think it's 89$ on my first link and 95$ on the second but I didn't compare shipping. |

This is what SkincareRx says about it (and they charge $94.10)
Photolysomes are encapsulated Photolyase, derived from Plankton, that undoes damage to DNA in cells and prevents cell death caused by UV rays. Endosomes is an encapsulated extract from the marine microbe that intensifies the skin's ability to repair sun damage. Evodia Fruit reduces inflammation and soothes the skin.
I'm still impressed with that large sun spot disappearing from the woman's arm in just 2 wks. Would love to hear anyone else's results too. It's a pricey cream |

The product used in the video clip is definitely the DNA Total Repair without the Copper Peptides. I watched the video on full screen and could read the label on the bottle clearly. The only reason I listed prices was to give people some idea of the cost and quantity; it isn't all that expensive compared to some products discussed at EDS and contains 1.7 ounces, not just a full ounce (50 mL vs the usual 30 mL). I am sure you can find it for less elsewhere if you search around!
Of course the retailer is using the clip "just for marketing" ... isn't that what The Doctors is for? Sorry for the pessimism!
The woman in the video used the product for only a couple of weeks; I was impressed with the results based on that short time frame. Foxe, there are a few reviews for the product on the website I linked to; overall rating is 3 out of 5. |

I just meant deceptive marketing as in putting that information "as seen on "The Doctors" under the one product if the other had been used on the show. I couldn't see the container clearly on the iPhone. |

I know a lot about this topic..
When your skin is exposed to sunlight, it damages the DNA which can be mutagenic and cause skin cancer and photoaging (products are released that break down the collagen in the skin..leading to wrinkles etc). Luckily, our body has natural defenses which uses special DNA repair enzymes (via the Nucleotide Enzyme Repair mechanism) to take out the damaged DNA and essentially "fix" the mistake caused by the UV ray damage. This process is not very efficient (it takes around 24 hrs to repair 50% of the damage) which is why we still get sun damage.
There are other enzymes from bacteria and plants that are very efficient at this process. In clinical trials, these enzymes were put in a special transporter known as a liposome, which is also used to deliver vaccines/antifungals etc. These liposomes were put in creams and applied topically and absorbed into the first layer of the skin (epidermis) and actually were able to enhance DNA repair! It also showed less formation of products that break down collagen. (Look at the work of these DNA repair enzymes with patients who suffer from Xerodoma Pigmentosum).
So basically, if applied with sun screen, this DNA repairing enzyme cream can actively help your body repair the DNA as it is being damaged by UV rays leading to less damage/photoaging in the long run.
With that being said, as in reference to the Doctors episode, sun spots are a result of OLD sun damage and I highly doubt that these enzymes can "fix what is already broken". It is, however, a great preventative measure.
Also, antioxidants are good for your skin (some of the bad products produced in the skin cells from the sun damage the DNA and the antioxidants absorb these free radicals)...but they are pretty much in most face care products already and nothing "new". |
