Hi everyone,
As you all know most sunscreens require reapplication after 2hrs. Any suggestions or products to use that won't ruin your make up?? Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but I thought if you used a physical sunscreen such as one with zinc-oxide and/or titanium dioxide you didn't need to reapply every two hours - unless it sweats off you're OK.
Chemical sunscreens need redoing every 2 hours because it's a different defence mechanism; they have a chemical reaction to the sunlight so they degrade. So if you use a physical rather than chemical one you shouldn't need to reapply unless you're in very extreme conditions.
Isn't that right?

Errr ... not really. Whether it's physical or chemical, you still need to reapply if you have wiped it off (such as when you are wiping sweat off), or you have perspired excessively and the sunscreen is not waterproof.
Physical sunscreens are photostable, so you shouldn't need to reapply (other than in circumstances mentioned above). As for chemical sunscreens, you should get a photostable one such as La Roche Posay Anthelios, then you wouldn't need to worry about reapplying. |
