This is just an FYI to let people know essential oils CAN irritate your skin, even cause dermatitis like breakouts similar to tiny pimples, skin itching, and what I thought was a return of my impetigo infection.
I use YL oils, I think very highly of them. However I was using lemongrass, lavender, and tea tree oil on a patch I thought was a return of my impetigo. It got worse, itchier, and began to enlarge. Oil sensitivity has been documented to be a permanent issue for some individuals. I don't think this is my case, but I stopped using the oils, applied some mild cortisone (yeah, I know...bad!) on my skin, and within 48 hours the entire patch cleared up and has since been clear for the past week. The impetigo had not returned and am I relieved. So, please keep in mind. Oils can be very powerful, and my lesson...only use one oil at a time and probably dilute!!! |

Yep, they sure can irritate skin. Paula Begoun warns women to use them with caution. |
