Would u recomend the CE feluric to a young woman about 21 years old? Or is it too strong for such age? At what age this product would be a good option?
At this point I'm not considering the cost.
Thanks a lot |

I would say at 21 years old prevention and protection is the key. I wish I had started in my 20s.
Vit C is a powerful antioxidant and combined with sunscreen would be a great skincare combination to start in your 20s. For sure
I did use this product but I do find DIY is better and fresher. There's nothing worse that starting with oxidised Vit C products at such a young age. As for being too strong it really depends on her skin type.

Dione, thanks for the comments. It makes sense to start early... |

I would say as long as it doesn't sting too much - use and benefit from the antioxidants at an early age! |

I think I wouldn’t suggest CE feluric, but would definitely second the idea that prevention is better than cure, so would say use a good sunscreen and moisturise with the best you can get. From what I remember CE feluric is good for some, but some have said they didn’t see anything. A young 21 year old woman can probably get away with using something less pricey and more effective.

I use EmergenC 20 % (sold at EDS by the way as an alternative to very pricy Skinceutical CE Ferulic.
It is a also a powerful Vic C serum (20%),
comes in airtight bottle, so no oxidation
but doesn't have Ferulic acid
I add Vit E every night anyway.
But I wonder is there is someone here who used both and can compare the EmergenC serum to Skinceutical... Is there any benefit in going for the pricier Skinceutical?
Please share.. |

What would you suggest in its stead? |

I get the BEST results from vitamin C serum when I use it every other day for a few months, and then give myself a 2 or 3 week break.
Not sure why it works so well for me that way, but I always have the best response when I keep my skin guessing. I'm also the less is more sort. |

This part makes me chuckle.
As if your skin is a boyfriend. |

Personally, I've always wished I had started my skin care a LOT sooner. My skin is still very good with few problems, but I may have prevented these two lines under my eyes that I hate if I had begun in my early 20s.
I know you said that you weren't considering the cost of the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic but you should know that you can get ALL of the ingredients to make a DIY serum for a LOT less money. I have purchased very expensive face products in the past but $153 per month is just unbelievable to me, unless that is the one and ONLY way to get those ingredients.
Skinceuticals has a patent on this particular formula. You can find Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Ferulic in other formulas but the C is not the same strength or type as what is in the Skinceuticals. So you're paying for a patent. However, you are able to make a DIY serum with the exact same ingredients for a lot less cost and your DIY serum will be a lot fresher. My personal recommendation would be to do it this way. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

This is good advice. I found if I applied Vitamin C serum too often, my skin seemed MORE stressed out. It is an acid after all.
Taking a break from it could be beneficial. Not to mention less costly. |

What I found is that when I used it daily, for several months, I started to not notice the *glow* I had begun to enjoy, wasn't as noticeable... So I backed off for a while, and then resumed using it every two or three days, for another 6 or so weeks, and my skin began to respond positively again.
I find myself doing this with the majority of topicals I use, and (for me) it really works out well. I just keep changing things up a little, take breaks, and that is how I seem to keep the positive results coming.
Once my skin gets acclimated to something, I stop getting the *wow* factor. We're all so different, so that's just my take on it. |
