I'm always apprehensive about aggressive facial care and dermarolling sounds quite invasive, what with pointed little needles going into the epidermis.
Are there any people out there with highly sensitive, delicate skin- skin which gets red easily from touch, which reacts a lot to manipulation, bleeds easily if pricked with conventional needles and which scars easily- who have had success dermarolling?
If I have my blood taken, my skin breaks easily and is usually bruised for a week so I am hesitant on the other hand I heard dermaroller is excellent for collagen production and product penetration.
For those with extremely sensitive skin:
How did your skin react?
Did you get benefits and no bad side effects?
If so what did you feel the primary benefits were?
Also which dermaroller -size needles, brand etc- did you use?
Many thanks for feedback. |

Thanks Russiansunshine, I may look into it.
What results did you get?
Does it feel much softer on the skin than the dermaroller? |

I can't speak about results as I had only done it twice so far. Dermarolling gives me red spots all over my face while dermastamp never does. Check this video out, it explains how dermarollers cause more epidermal damage than needed. Dermapen is much safer, causes less bleeding and leads to less recovery time (1:39).

Since I cannot afford Dermapen now, I am using Dermastamp. |

I have fair, sensitive skin and can NOT do the cosmetic rolling with the short .25mm needles...I am swollen and red for at least 2 days.
However, I have been successful at eliminating crows feet with 1mm needles, but each roll keeps me housebound for about a week due to swelling, some minor bruising, and redness.
I think I will be trying the dermastamp next though. |

Thanks Bethany!
Yes I feared as much for the dermarolling.
Let me know how it goes with the dermastamp. I may pm you in a few weeks and see if you bit the bullet! I'm a bit afraid to.
As I said I'd rather stick with gentle skincare rather than spend money on something which my skin will react to as torture!
Good luck with the stamp. |

I have sensitive, eczematous skin but dermarolling with a 1mm is not as bad as I expected. However I don't roll the whole face, am not very aggressive and apply aloe vera daily before and after (anti-inflammatory, speeds healing by increasing collagen deposition). Bruising is related to the strength of your blood vessels, not your skin. IMO if you scar easily from even small injuries microneedling may not be for you.
