Hi ladies,
A couple of weeks ago, I saw a groupon offer for 1-3 sessions of Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening treatments at a med spa about 20 miles away from where I live. At first I ignored the offer, but then the word skin tightening was intriquing so I decided to read up about it. I also read Yelp review on this business, and there were some posts touting the success of the RF facials. So I decided to bite the bullet and bought one voucher for 3 treatments for $189. I didn't want to buy just 1 treatment because I thought with this kind of treatments, you won't see result with just one session. I was a little skeptical because my skin usually doesn't respond well to treatments. I have had various facials like glycolic, oxygen, microdermabrasion, IPL, etc, and I was not fond of them. I liked the IPL at first, but now I got new spots from the IPL which I'm mad at. Anyway, I thought I should just try this new treatment since I have not yet tried it. So far I had 2 sessions. I am going back for my 3rd and last tomorrow. I am seeing results. My biggest concern has been under the eyes. My eyes always looked tired, and my forehead skin wasn't as tight looking as I would have liked. I told the technicians my concerned areas, and they focused on those, but the treatment was for the whole face and neck. It lasted 30 minutes, and there's some heat involved at the tip of the applicator, so they couldn't leave the tip of your skin for long, or you would feel some burning sensation. Anyway I was looking at my reflection this morning, and when I smiled, I could see that the skin under my eyes looked tighter. My forehead also looked tighter to me. Now I don't think anyone else would notice because my eyes are very detail, much more so than others, and I'm extremely critical about my own looks. However I am happy that I am seeing results and cannot wait to do my last session tomorrow. If they have more offers/deals in the future, I'll grab them, but I won't pay the full price of $165/session. Here's the description of this treatment on their website:

RF Facial
The Ultimate Non Surgical Face Lift!
Radiofrequency (RF) energy technology for non-surgical tightening of the early signs of loose or sagging skin. Ideal for those people who either don’t want, or don’t believe they are old enough to have a surgical procedure. Pure RF energy is primarily used to treat skin laxity by facial tightening, and is best suited to patients with mild to moderate sagging of facial tissues, usually those in their mid 30s to 50s, with any skin color. It is commonly used to treat the forehead, under the eyes, cheeks, mid-face, jaw line, and neck.Based on current RF technologies, most people should see at least a mild improvement in their skin tightness, with minimal risks and downtime compared to surgery. Prices for radiofrequency facial tightening treatment depend on the area(s) treated and the device used.
$165

Anyway I just wanted to share my results with other members in case you see an offer like this in your area, and would like to try it. I couldn't find much review except for Yelp, so I decided to be a guinea pig. I'm glad I tried. |

Thanks for your review - I just purchased 4 treatments (one facial area) X 2 for $185. This is something called Refirm and although the reviews are mixed I had credits for Groupon so I thought what the heck. I had Thermage in its very early days and I do not think it was effective, but for sure devices have improved. If it is good, I will do more areas.
How long did you wait between treatments? My first will be on 23 Aug but I will want to book the other 3 sessions then if I can.
So I am glad that it has worked for you - and don't you think that it is not what others see, but we ourselves notice in the mirror that counts? Cheers! |

I had my first session done on Wed, and the 2nd on Tuesday, and my last will be on Sat. The technician said I could do it every 4 days or so. The one this place uses is not called Refirm, but maybe it is the same technology. I had thermage before, too, maybe a couple of years ago. I couldn't really see results with it too much. They also didn't focus on under the eye area for me. Your deal is actually better than mine!! You get 8 treatments for only $185? That's sweet. I did not see that offer in my area. |
