I know this is an odd place to ask this (but Ive asked odd questions here before).
I have had fibroids for years (even had surgery). In the last 8 months ive had very heavy bleeding. My dr wanted me to have a hysterectomy. I refused, did a little bit of research, went to another dr and asked about birth control
She gave me ortho tri cylen lo today. Now Ive never used birth control.
I do have depression and anxiety and read it can cause happy woman to be miserable. Is there a possibility it could do the opposite?
Any other opinions on this - especially with my age.
THANKS |

Good for you that you refused the hysterectomy!!!
FWIW I started on bcp 2 years ago for perimenopause symptoms and my anxiety and depression became way less almost instantly.
Maybe it's a good idea to start keeping a journal about how you feel, and evaluate after one cycle with your doctor. If you feel your anxiety and depression are getting worse he/she can adjust the dose or put you on a different brand. |
