How much is 20% zinc oxide in spoons? And how much aloe vera juice should be added to the mixture?
Thank You! |

It's a mix for an 8oz size container. |

lol, I don't know what you're doing, but 20% is one fifth of 100%, or your entire product. 1.6 I think?
You should go for weighted measurements if you're formulating. scales are cheap. |

Ok I have micronized zinc oxide powder, aloe vera juice and lavender oil.
I'm going to add the mixture to an 8oz bpa free blue plastic bottle.
How much zinc oxide should I add to the Aloe vera juice and how many lavender drops?
I have noticed that most of the sunblocks that are 8oz use 20% micronized zinc oxide but how much is 20% micronized zinc oxide?
Thank You! |

Its best to use a scale to measure your ingredients. 8 ounces is 480 ml, 480ml=480 grams. To find 20% of 480 multiply .20 X 480 and that is how many grams of zinc you need. |

I had my conversion wrong. 8 ounces actually equals 240ml. I tend to get 480 and 240 mixed up for some reason. Sorry for any inconvenience. |

I've made sunscreen allot. It can be a pain because of the whitening from the zinc. HA at 0.5% helps tone it down. The other option is to add some iron oxides. They come in all colors. |
