I was walking down the cooking oil aisle at my supermarket and stumbled upon safflower oil. I have learned that safflower oil is supposed to be one of the most non-comedgenic oils, which is why so many skincare products that are geared towards problematic skin contain safflower oil.
I have been wanting to use an oil for makeup removal and a lot of people suggested jojoba oil. Would plain old safflower oil work too? I'm interested in trying a plain oil because my had a terrible reaction to a commercial cleansing oil. Any suggestions?
Cheers,

I have used a safflower oil based cleanser and it was OK, I don't think my skin really likes the idea of having a greasy film left after cleansing but it definitely did not cause any blocked pores. I think most light-medium density oils will be suitable for OCM and makeup removal, except for castor which needs to be diluted.
I am not sure what sort of makeup you use, liquid/powder? But I would still follow with some sort of gel based cleanser every now and then to remove makeup traces.
I have seen a few good reviews for Zenbiotic's Rinseless Cleanser which was very effective for removing makeup as well. It is water based and contains no oils. |

I've tried camellia oil, squalane oil, and sesame oil for removing my makeup. They all worked, but I have to use another cleanser after them to get all the residue off. For eye removal, I use an oil-free makeup remover called Lid+Lash Wash by Bliss. I got really sensitive eyes so using oils on my eyes would make my eyes go cloudy and irritate them. Bliss Lid+Lash Wash does not irritate my eyes at all. |

OP,
What was the name of the commercial cleansing oil, which irritated your skin? |

This thread is over 5 years old. I doubt the op even posts here anymore. |

It's also possible that another member might know the product's name and respond to my post. |
