Nutrition in banana peel!
I happen to come across an article on this and I am now trying it. I must be crazy, but I want to see if it works. It is suppose to be excellent for skin, hair, and suppose to help with depression. If you google it you will understand that most of the people say it is great. Anyone heard of this before?
P.S. I put it in a smoothie and it is not so bad... |

Not sure what you're talking about. Could you perhaps link to the article? |

Interesting! I don't doubt it. I've always craved bananas when unwell and yeah, just the flesh seems LOADED with good stuff, so why not the peel!
I don't juice, but after reading that I'm considering boiling the peels and drinking or using the water for something (as long as it doesn't smell up the house - HATE the smell of bananas!). Anyway, this is something I've been doing a lot lately - boiling up all kinds of scraps for soup stocks.
Might also try applying peel to the couple of dry patches on my fingers and seeing what happens.
* edit... I'm literally afraid of boiling the peels, I'm that grossed out by the smell of bananas. ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

I did not either, but when I started reading about it, it sounded like a healthy thing to do! Just make sure you wash the banana skin really well...unless you are buying organic.. ![Idea](images/smiles/idea.gif) |

I read somewhere on EDS about a person who used a piece of banana peel at night and wrapped it around their foot to get rid of a wart. I found the thread below.

I saw this too!
Didn't think the ol' banana peel had any uses? Think again! Banana peels gets rid of warts (including plantar's warts) and when toasted to a crisp, gives roses and other flowers a huge boost of potassium to help them flower. Gardeners swear by it!
How it works:
Loads of potassium in the banana peel.
Recipe:
Rub the inside of a little piece of a banana peel on a wart every night. You should see results within one to two weeks. |

Have to say I have been consuming banana peel for several days and I cannot see any difference. I am not a patient person, so maybe in time...... ![Confused](images/smiles/confused.gif) |

Ugh, I'm almost relieved to hear it!
I can't even bring myself to boil one, imagining the smell & the ugly dregs I'd need to dispose of.
Throw them in a pill, and I'll take 'em! |

I prefer the the bananas than the peel
I eat it for breakfast with my cereal, blue berries, and soya milk. But I don't think I will try to eat the banana peel too, not for me anyway
