Hi all i am a longtime lurker on this site and have decided to log my dermarolling experiences.
I am very young (19) but you wouldn't think it from my skin . I have suffered from acne since age of 13. Finally more or less cured it with accutane and i finished the course of that last january, but i cant say my skins anywhere near good. My skin is thin with a crepey texture, looks like verryy fine lines all over my face I have lots, I mean LOTS of hyperpigmentation, it's barely faded since I finished my accutane course. I have acne scarring, thankfully not too deep probably classed as shallow with a couple of more noticable/deeper scars. All these problems for a 19 year old is awful, has bought a lot of depression ill tell ya!
So my mother rolled my face for the first time last night with a 1.5mm roller, it wasn't too uncomfortable i had a few blood spots and my face was inflamed. I applied clinique even better clinical on my skin and it stinged a little but wasn't too bad. about an hour after i applied a little super cp serum. I am a bit weary of applying that, not sure if it does anything really. So right now my skin is exactly the same as it was last night before I rolled. I will roll again in 3/4 weeks I believe but I will keep updated.
Any advice/support would be appreciated! |

Hello beautiful people
well I'm 4 days after treatment, my skin texture looks actually slightly better than treatment, but ever so slightly but my skin is soo dry!! I am using a homemade vitamin c serum to supplement the treatment.
Jeez, i wish my hyperpigmentation wasnt so ridiculously hard to fade |

Hi iamnotarobot, Vit C can sometimes be drying to the skin depending on the kind of C and percentage. I not saying you shouldn't use it but you might want to add a moisturizer or oil to your routine especially if Vit C is new to you. |

Hi...superficial dryness/flaking/peeling can be common in the week following a roll. In my case it ususally resolves at around 5 days and skin looks better than before.
cheers! |

Hi, yep @rebecca1 the dryness is sure gone, ironically my skin was quite oily today!
But genuinely I thought it may have all been in my head but my skin genuinely has a slightly improved texture. It makes me excited/nervous. I hope this improvement continues! |

Hi, yeah I used to use 10% and I tolerated it fine but downgraded to 5% as I felt I was overloading my skin as even though it may not look too young, my skin is only 19 years old, need to take it a little easy lol! |
