Hi all
Been ages since I posted, but follow up on posts, trends, etc. Just read Nancy at NCN will not be able to get her device she was so eager for. So sad! I think it was going to be microcurrent like, but do more.
Anyway, I have several skin care tools. My Lighstim died fast, Tua is half broken. I'm not crazy about TUA only due to time and am looking for something for body too. I have been going back and forth about Trinity Nuface and don't see nearly enough good posts about STOP Tripollar. Leaning toward NuFace but feel skin gadgets are only getting better and wonder if I should wait for something multi-useful. lol
I am trying to find something good for body and face. I am very thin, very and have extremely loose, saggy, lined skin, stretchy skin on my legs due to connective tissue issues. No matter what I do in gym or diet it wont help. Genetics suck. LOL. I am not rich, but really want to get the right tool. I have to be money mindful.
I am fair skinned, 48 years old, good skin, just sagging a bit. I use retinol, some TUA. What do you think would be best to tighten/work on my body...and face? I am sunken in, lol right now and way underweight not by choice. Health issues. HAS ANYONE used NuFace on their body? I didn't like ultrasound device at all, it has been a waste for me as i don't use it. Cant feel it doing anything so quit. My bad. lol.
Tua is okay but too time consuming and I want to accomplish more. Your thoughts? I think safetox is cool but so expensive for just one area of body, you know. I did just buy a few "cups" from Russia I think for cupping. never tried it.
thanks so much and happy day to all.

I also have sag on lower face and just started using microcurrent (the 38.00 cheapie on Amazon.) I had purchased a DPL LED panel years ago and have started using it again. I paid alot for it, but on the EDS forums several knowledgeable members have said it is one of the least effective LEDs.
I plan to try the Darsonval high frequency device. Tried Dermawand once years ago but it burned the heck out of me. Still, I'd like to give HF a shot.
You might want to check out Truth in Aging's website. They announced a new skin firming device a couple of days ago. Not sure what is appropriate with your medical issue.
Good luck! |

Hi
thanks so much for reply. Sounds like we have tried or want to try some of the same things. I have the DPL panel but find it awkward to use because I have to do it laying down and resting on my face. Awkward. I thought abt RF too. In decision mode. I did just get two "cupping" cups for body and will see what it does. I may get some for the face as it seems to get some good reviews and I like the principle of it...blood flow and circulation. I really want to lift my eyebrows...as the upper lid is so saggy and uncomfy. Maybe I just need a glass of wine and chocolate instead.
Have a great night, thanks again |

Thanks much,
I actually have a skin roller from Sarah, bought it over a year ago. LOVE the idea, use it now and then but found it utterly agonizing and heard the numbing creams don't really work. Do you know differently? I am used to major pain, chronic pain disorders but somehow the needling is just pure torture. I have tried several times and I don't roll hard. But I do agree it is a good option and am all for it. Just need to find a way to numb. Maybe a bottle of wine and an advil, lol. Appreciate so much your help and links. I love the cupping, even though it is hard on my injuries too. But beauty comes at a price, lol
Thanks for reply, I will roll on, cup away and keep trucking on! ha ha |

Both Nuface and DPL Light are both inferior to skin needling ( dermarolling), IMHO. I've tried all of them. And dermarolling is even much cheaper. It is very good for tightening and thickening the skin. Find out more here:

Hi,
Just wondering, what do you think of Dermastamp? Do you think it is only good for scars or do you see use with wrinkles and sagging...? It seems really to be more for scars.
Thanks!!!!! |

The numbing cream Sarah sells works very well.
I use a 1.5 mm dermastamp on my face every 2-3 weeks. Anti-aging effects are not immediate but cumulative.
Read this post: http://www.skincare.boards.net/thread/49/dermarolling-skin-needling-pcit
Some people say it takes a year to see results.
I do not have neither wrinkles nor sagging on my face because use dermarolling in conjunction with Retin A, Lifeline, and DIY serums full of actives at high %. |

I use the cupping on face (silicon ones) and do feel it is great massage. No miracles yet though. I also use Retin A and need to start back with DIY vit. C in the day. Currently using a peptide serum. BTW, tried Isomers stem cell products and they did nothing at all.
The dermaroller scares me! Russian Sunshine, how bad does it redden and puncture your face? Maybe I could start with a small needle size and try on my tummy to get comfortable with the idea. |

Dermaroller is not as scary as it seems. I use 1.5 mm dermastamp on my face without any numbing cream. My skin becomes very red but no bleeding.
Since I am in my early 30s, according to Sarah, that is sufficient. In a few years, I will start rolling my face more viciously with a dermaroller.
Dermroller of the same length is much more painful than a dermastamp so a numbing cream is recommended. You can either use Emla (sold in Walmart) or Lidocaine Numbing cream from owndoc: (http://shop.owndoc.com/product-info.php?EMLA-pid198.html). Clean the area to be treated first either with alcohol or Betadine, apply EMLA 45 minutes before the procedure, cover it with plastic or foil wrap. After 45 minutes wipe EMLA off with Betadine. It will numb your skin for about 30 minutes.
Dermarolling is a very potent and economical skin procedure. But has to be done regularly depending on the length of the needles. |

Thanks - I promise just one more question.
How many days does your face stay red afterwards? |

I disagree, I think you must start with diet and exercise before looking at tools and potions. To build/maintain muscle/skin tone you must eat plenty of protein (50+ grams a day) and do some kind of toning exercise. Have you tried yoga, Pilates etc?
For perimenopause-related skin sagging you might also use progesterone which helps thicken skin:

Hi Gretchen,
I'm not the original poster--I'm just looking to firm face and neck. I do exercise but admit eating a healthy diet is something I struggle with and it is important.
I am interested in estriol and progesterine cream (I'm 54) but wanted to wait until my next gyn appt. just to ease my mind I'm giving my body the right amounts.
Thanks! |

If I do it in the evening, next morning my face is no longer red. |
