My friend who is 55 years old has lots of grey hair but her skin is sensitive to hair color so she can not dye it.
She started to drink the mixture of sesame and black bean powder, one spoon each. After 3 months some of her grey hair turned into black color.
Is it a miracle?! |

My mom would tell me that black beans will do that but I never believed her. But I love black beans and I try to eat them as much as I can. The other day I noticed a greyish hair and pulled it. To my surprise, the lower half was blondish/grey and the upper half closest to the root) was black. So maybe my mom is right? I have about 4-5 recurring gray hairs that I pull and so far they are still silver. |

It sounds pretty amazing to me.
Are there any side effects from ingesting that mixture daily? |

Is it just raw powder or a specially made powder? Did she have to cook/boil them? |

Sounds awesome, but what if you're hair is blonde? I get mine highlighted nowadays, but I still grow pale blonde hairs along with the more mousy light brown/dishwater blonde color. I wouldn't want black hairs growing in because I pay a lot of money to get my hair colored and highlighted to a medium blonde shade with ligher highlights! |

You need to add hot water with the mixture of powder or put in some sugar or milk to stir it in order to get better taste.
Both powder packages (sesame and black bean) can be found in Natural Food retail store, Health food store or some Chinese super-market. There is description and instruction on the package but I am not sure whether it has English on it coz it is made in Taiwan.
I don't suggest you take it for long term. You have to consult the family doctor before you do so. |

Thank you for the info - I am wary about ingesting things so your tip about seeing the doctor is good. |

Wow! That is really interesting! Sesame and black bean powder sound pretty harmless... I'm going to see if my local natural foods store has both. |

Hmm, that's interesting - I wonder if just the black bean powder on it's own would work? Must check out my local health food store to see if these are available in the UK. |

It is a big chinese thing that eating lots of black sesame helps with hair. Will have to try it since I have to color my gray hair every 2 months for years now. |

Correction: black bean powder and sesame, not black sesame seeds. Big difference! |

The color of black bean powder in the package is brown and the color of sesame powder is black in the other package. I guess the sesame is black sesame. |

Black sesame powder is VERY popular in Japan.. I love to mix it with macha powder and some Kinako (a kind of powdered soy) and then mix into yoghurt. yummy. |

Tiger, maybe you can answer my question I posted a day or so ago? The sesame/bean thing sounds like a great way to keep the natural color of your hair - if its black! But what about if you have blonde hair? Anyone? Bueller? |

Mermaid girl, I have no idea... I guess I dont eat it regularly enough... maybe black sesame for black hair and white sesame for blonde?
over here we also have a black-bean cocoa drink. My in-laws have it and I meant to try it at New year but forgot.. |
