I was always told that you arent supposed to start with the anti-aging moisturisers and whatnot until after 25, as you dont need it and it'll make you grow hair on your face, etc etc etc.
Now, that being said, I got two really amazing looking Clarins sets from my aunt for Christmas, and they are both anti aging. One set is for eyes, the other is general face stuff. I know that isnt too specific but I havent opened it yet since my mom offered to buy it off me if I dont want it.
I'm a broke student but also a product junkie.
At the age of 22, is it too soon to start with anti aging products? Like will there be side effects such as hair?
Is Clarins considered good?!
All opinions welcome. Thanks so much.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It's never too early to start an anti aging regimen. I personally wish I would have started at your age! Laughing

There are a few supplements and topicals that are known to promote hair growth (even if it's just wide spread anecdotal cases) and yes, it's very annoying. I avoided putting panthenol in my DIY moisturizers for the longest time just because of this. But individuals get hairier as they age anyhow, and I think if it's an active that genuinely helps the skin it's an acceptable trade off. That's for everyone to decide for themselves though.

I would say - Don't try to fix something that is not broken.

Using anti aging stuff at 22 is a total waste. Use the money your mom will give you for this to buy some good sunscreen and vitamin C serum. I wish i knew that's all i needed at my 22 Smile)

I don't think that you can put a cap on age groups for anti aging. It's like saying only those under exactly ten years old can ride roller coasters. If you are considering anti aging products, contemplate whether or not you require it. I had friends at that age that definitely could have used it- genetics, lifestyle, diet, whatever influence us a lot more than our age number.

Have you heard of the Clarisonic? At your age I would focus on basic skin care, not anti aging so much. Look at your cleanser and make sure it isn't too harsh; the skin has a ph of 5.5, so you want a cleanser that is close to that. A higher ph is too alkaline and will strip the moisture barrier. Get a basic moisturizer and sunscreen also. You want to look for a s/s that is broad spectrum; a s/s with a high % of zinc (15+) is a good bet.

You seriously don't need the clarins stuff at your age. You might as well throw money down the drain as use anti aging products at your age. Wink

I would invest on a good cleanser, moisturizer and definitely a sunscreen of at least SPF 30. Your mom will benefit more if she buys from you...
