It appears that I am getting this pimple on the centre of my upper bow lip. It is the second time.
I don't know how to stop it from happening again. I know eventually it will come to head and pop and it is not that comfortable, but a relief of the pressure.
I don't if it is safe to put my retin-a on it or some form of lactic acid peel and I have no idea to avoid this from happening again.
Has anyone gone through a similar situation? What do I do? |

Are you using a lip product or lipstick that you could give a rest? Sounds like something you are using is irritating to you.
Lips2kiss sell a great lip exfoliant.
If you have a dermawand you could use that to shrink it. But for future, I'd say change what you have been doing so far!
I hope it gets better soon, sounds painful. |

I don't think it was any of my lip makeup. I wonder if it is a faze my skin is going through?
Am I the only one who had this? |

My husband gets a pimple on the inside of his nostril. It takes a few weeks to heal and then in a few months it comes back. It think it's a boil and will send him to the Dr if it comes back again.
Do you you use any hair removers on your upper lip? |

No, I don't use hair removal, but I do use retin-a in that area. Maybe some of it melted down to mu lip, but I can't see that purging my lip. Can you? |

I really don't think it's the retin A. That would probably make your skin dryer and peel, but not cause a recurring pimple.
I was really thinking it might be folliculitis. An infection of the hair follicle. It would look like a pimple with a hair in the middle of it. When it drains, it might drain pus, blood or both. It can happen whenever the hair follicle gets aggravated in some way. Did you maybe have a cold and you were wiping your nose a lot? The constant rubbing from the tissue might have aggravated it. Have you been sweating a lot? Have you used a steroid cream in that area? Did you maybe try a different lipstick? Did your significant other have a moustache stubble when you were kissing? Seriously - I'm just trying to think of anything that might be different.... |

Is it possible to have hair growing from your lip? This pimple is not on my lip line.
Yes, I had a very bad cold and blew my nose a lot. I'm glad that is over and that was a couple of weeks ago.
I still can't figure out the cause, unless it is my hormones. |

No, I was thinking that it's on your lip line where the skin meets the lip.
Are you in the habit of touching your lips a lot? Do you get acne on other parts of your face? Apparently it is possible to get acne on your lips, I am just not sure what you can apply to it other than maybe neosporin or wet hot compresses. Sorry and good luck. |
