I am just curious.
Does anyone else here buy products they use ahead of time just to have a stock? There is a good deal at Skinstore and I want to stock up. |

I think it all depends on how fast you can go through your stock. I don't really "stock up" too much on any particular product. An extra container or two is good enough for me.
However, when ordering online, I try to go with the product's "Replenishment Program," like with Nuvosa. Programs like these already offer you discounts.
What product are you planning to buy from Skinstore? What's its shelf life? You should probably consider that as well.
Hope this helps. |

If it's cheaper that way, I always buy in bulk - as long as it's something that will keep. I don't think I've bought any cosmetics or ready-made creams in bulk, but I've bought huge amounts of carrier oils for my skin - why buy a pint when 5 gallons will do? LOL |

I do buy back ups of colours that I really like. It seems to be common to have colours discontinued.
Mineral powders have a long shelf life and the owner could suddenly not be able to get a certain pigment in...suddenly the colour is discontinued.
I don't stock up on natural skin care. For example: rosehip oil has a short shelf life. My bottle is in the fridge and it lasts a long time. |

I have had many HG status hair products suddenly not available in my area or worst discontinued.
I do stock up on hair products (in particular) hair treatments.
I also stock up when I see something that I have used before and or really want to try at Winners (or a store like this). For example: Mastey hair line is hard to find but shows up at Winners sometimes. If you see it at Winners; it is usually a good price and probably won't be there tomorrow. |

Hi Immacolata, most carrier oils have a shelf life of 6 months to a year and they should be kept refrigerated... I tend to buy smaller amounts that I would be able to use up in 6 months time or so.... few exceptions are jojoba oil and fractionated coconut oil, they last for many years... |

No, I'm afraid of it going bad. Only exception is lip balm because I seem to misplace them on a rotating basis so I always have a half dozen floating around my house. |

Not really. I will buy a replacement before one is 100% empty, and sometimes I am wrong about how close to the end I really am! I bought a new Jane Iredale Powder 5 months ago and I still haven't finished up the first one. |

If it's something I *know* I love and use regularly, yes, I do stock up when there's a sale or an event that allows me to get some kind of really good bonus. I like getting a better price, plus I don't have the inconvenience of running out.
I don't buy more than I could use before it would go bad, however. |
