Just got my first tube of Hyaluronic acid serum Trying it on my hands first and it seems nice.
Just wondering if it's okay to use something like this under teh eyes?
Thanks! |

Violetlight - My Vitamin C Serum (Mad Hippie) also contains hyaluronic acid and I use it under my eyes usually twice a day. Haven't had any issues with it, in fact, I think it's really improved my under-eye area. |

Yes, vitamin C is a very important for keep the sikn "young". It has the following benefits for the skin:
anti-oxidant
anti-free radicals
collagen production
so using it together with hyaluronic acid, the result can be great.
Sometimes you can find some creams with these component or ca use capsules.
Excuse the "scientific lesson" (I'm a pharmacist) I LOVE this topic! |

Hylauronic acid use is somewhat controversial, I'm on the other side of the fence. I personally wouldn't use it anywhere.. I'd try to track down a C serum without it and see if you get the same results. |

I've used Hyaluronic acid under my eyes after Vitamin C serum is completely absorbed. Usually in 20 minutes.. I do not have issues with it at all.... In fact quite the opposite. I find it to be very moisturizing around the eye area, help keeps skin "glowing"... I use it as part of my beauty regimen.... |

Ava, what is the controversial about? I used an Hylauronic acid cream about two years ago, or more, can't quite remember and didn't like it... but can't remember either why I didn't like it!! |

I would say its fine also. Its a natural moiturising factor of the skin so it should be fine as our skin contains it naturally.
I would also like to know about this controversy? |

i would ditch hyaluronic acid and just use a 4% n acetyl glucosamine powder in distilled water. use that as a serum all over face or just under eyes. it helps build hyaluronan in the skin naturally. hyaluronic acid molecules are too big to cross the skin and plus they mess up the skins ability to actually moisturize and heal itself. trust me. you dont need a hyaluronic acid serum. you just need some time and patience and simple ingredients. |

Am I the only person that does not see results using HA? I find it does nothing for me, except most times it balls up on my skin. |

Here's a super old thread about it- the gist is that it is hydrophyllic, and takes water from wherever it can, even if its from your skin. There are some other theories as well, but all mess with the skin barrier. |

I've used it a few times, and I don't like it at all. I actually think it has dried out my skin more! Another one to add to the "mistakes pile", sigh! |

Deertear, based on your recommendation on another thread, I just bought Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) Powder. Will this achieve the same effect as the glucosamine? |
