Has anyone tried this Vit.C from Forever Young U.K?

Topical Vitamin C must be in the form of L-ascorbic acid to be useful to the body and skin. Just because a product says Vitamin C on the label doesn't mean the product contains L-ascorbic acid. In creams, lotions, and serums the Vitamin C oxidises quickly and loses its therapeutic potency. If you buy a product containing Vitamin C off the shelf it is likely to have lost its effectiveness. We also now add Vitamin E acetate to the serum.

A powerful Anti-oxidant
Topical Vitamin C protects skin against harm caused by exposure to sunlight. It does this by neutralizing reactive oxygen species (free radicals), the highly reactive molecules produced by the interaction of sunlight, cell membranes, and other components of skin tissue. Antioxidants protect skin by neutralizing free radicals, which would otherwise destroy skin and its components. These free radicals are stimulated by ultraviolet light and also occur naturally in the oxygen atmosphere.

A Collagen booster
As we age we lose the ability to create collagen. It is the collagen in our skin that maintains the skins elasticity. Vitamin C is the only antioxidant that has been proven to increase collagen synthesis. L-ascorbic acid serves as a signal, relaying a critical message to collagen genes to synthesize collagen, as well as being a cofactor for two enzymes important in collagen synthesis.

Vitamin E is a powerful anti-oxidant which targets damaging free radicals and renders them ineffective. It is free radical activity in our skin that is probably the biggest single cause of aging

Ferulic Acid - Research shows that the addition of Ferulic Acid to a solution of Vitamins C and E doubles its photo-protection of skin*, and stabilises the Vitamin C so that it retains its potency for longer.

It's at 10% (which people do says it's more effetive that say 15% or 20%) and sells for under £5, which IMO is a little too good to be true Laughing

I've not tried this product of theirs, but I do use their peptide lotion/cream and volumising one and love them both. Great pricing and shipping is fast.

You may check with the seller about the pH of that Vit C serum; people say that it should not be higher than 3.2.

I know this is an older thread but just wanted to say that I currently use this. Works fine, tingles on application which indicates to me the pH is effective (not very scientific but I don't have any pH strips) seems as effective as my diy version, is cheap as chips and generally more convenient than diy. It is a white coloured serum so you can tell it really is fresh as vit c goes yellowish in the later stages of oxidation. I also use their alpha clear toner beforehand so that my skin is the right pH and I don't have to wait. The toner is also great.

Wow, I checked their website and they seem to have a lot of great products at a VERY reasonable price! Smile

I will order their C Serum and one or two other products as soon as I have finished my 2 bottles of Skinactives C Serum.
