I know we have posted about facial hair removal methods in the past - some of us shave, some wax, tweeze, thread, etc. I want to share with my fellow EDSers a great effective, DIY beauty gadget and only $14.20 on Amazon plus free shipping if your order is $25.00.
The R.E.M. Spring (facial hair remover system) removes hair from the roots. It is used to remove facial hair for women on upper and lower lips, cheeks, chin and neck. Not for use on eyebrows or other body parts. It is approximately 6-1/2" long and less than 1/4 across. It is a well made product: a tight spring basically with two ends for holding onto. Apparently this can replace 'threading' in a salon.
To use: You bend the spring into a U shape, place it against your face (I had best luck with the U being upside down on my face - Omega shaped if you will) and then as you slowly move the spring upward, you twirl right hand clockwise, left hand counter-clockwise. This will allow the coils to grip the hairs and start to rip them out. You will feel the small hairs grab in as you roll and get pulled out. You also may have to move in different directions depending upon the growth of hair.
I didn't find it terribly painful but there are moments where it smarts a bit. According to some of the Amazon reviews I read, the pain diminishes after the first time (maybe less hair?) I am fair so my hair is more fine and light but it's there. Courser hair may be more painful to remove or resistant and upper lip area may be more uncomfortable but the reviews are mostly positive and encouraging once you get the learning curve down.
The directions that come with the Spring are not as good as they could be. I think the main thing is you get the roll down with the right and left hands.
Ultimately I found it easy to do and gives you a nice, smooth face. |

I use this and really like it. I have written about somewhere on EDS. It can hurt a bit. Especially on the upper lip but you do get used to it. |

I agree Cookie - the upper lip is the worst of it.
My face feels so smooth after doing it. I don't get any redness or reaction either. |

I want to thank you for posting about this item. While I didn't buy the R.E.M. but an off brand on Amazon for $1.00 I'm really impressed and happy with using this method to remove facial hair. I ordered 3 from a seller in China, found a YouTube video, nice and easy to use |
