Hi! I am new to the community and I have read that super long thread on HF tools a couple times over, just soaking in all the info. What great info!! I just received my HF tool (from Amazon $139 - High Frequency D'Arsonval Professional Device w/argon sold by New Skin Care Collection) and am really excited to try it out. For all of those who use it, can you please give advice on how best to use it?
Do you have oils/products on your face while using it or just on a clean, dry face? I'm currently using Vitamin E oil and aloe vera gel as a moisturizer and I'm thinking of having that on while I use the tool... any thoughts on that?
If you do put something on, what is it and do you know of any products that you should NOT have on while using it?
Also, I've heard of people who use it directly on the skin vs. people having it lifted slightly off the skin and some even putting gauze over the skin... is there a difference this will make? Which is better?
I have an 11 year old daughter and 13 year old son, they have small bumps on their face, would it be safe to use on them? I didn't see a minimum age on the info that came with my device.
I am an almost 41 YO mom who is battling acne!!! What in the world...?!?!?! Glad (but sad) that I'm not alone... I'm really hoping that this will help and clear up the acne. Thank you all in advance!!

Jules, I don't have a D'Arsonval but I have another HF unit and like it a lot. To treat zits I believe you are supposed to hold it on or just over the blemish (like, within a couple mm's of your skin) for about a minute. That has worked for me to dry up the occasional pimple (doing this they last only a few days instead of a week or more), although I mostly use my device on my scalp, not zits.
Hopefully some more experienced users with HF will chime in.
HTH. Welcome! |

Thank you, Yubs and thank you for your reply! That was my next question... how long are you supposed to "zap" pimples.
Like you, I am also using it on the scalp to improve hairgrowth... do you feel it has helped? How long do you usually comb through?
Another question for anyone out there... I've been looking for info on other uses for the HF device (besides just skincare), was there a website somewhere with that info?
Thank you all! |
