I love taking time out to appreciate the simple things in life. It helps me stay grounded in this hectic world.
Today, I was just thinking about how farm animals--namely piglets--are so cute. For instance, aren't the piglets below the most adorable things ever? I just want to pick them up and kiss them.
I especially love their little snouts.

My dad was a rancher and we had a large Purina hog operation (2,000-6000 on average)as well as cattle. It was at the time, the largest in South Texas and quite sophisticated.
When I was a little girl my dad would bring home the occasional baby for us to bottle feed when the mother rejected it, usually the runt.
Needless to say, I loved them!
They were my little babies and I would dress them up and mother them, carrying them everywhere.
It was always sad when they grew up to be not so cute and not so little porkers, but 200-400 plus pounds. They became stinky, rude and noisy, to say the least. And they could be vicious, as they are sometimes carnivorous if not watched carefully.
But the babies, they were adorable! Like most creatures (especially teenagers), if they could only stay cute and little, haha. |
