Hi everybody
I'm new to the forums but I've been reading posts for a couple of days, and I really love how informative, knowledgable and helpful the ladies here seem to be!
I am about to undertake a long-haul (over 20 hours) flight from South Africa to New Zealand, with a stopover in Singapore. I really could use some advice on things to watch out for, makeup, haircare tips and general skincare advice. My parents have not seen me for about 5 years, and I really don't want them to think I look bloody awful and run in terror after the trip as I reach the arrivals lounge!
Profile: My skin is very fair, combo tending towards dry and prone to breakouts from overly-rich or oily products. My hair is flame-red and quite long. I suffer from dark circles under my eyes when I am sleep deprived.
Any help would be wonderfully appreciated!

Demi,
I generally take a moisturising mask with me when I fly and also a face washer so I can have a warm compress on my face and wake up the circulation. I'm also taking Thalgo Marine Mist with me next time (I discovered it only recently) so that I can spray my face every so often. I prefer to get on the plane with no makeup on my face, and apply it just prior to landing (just simple concealer, a bit of powder, some blush, mascara, lipgloss, and maybe a highlighter). I would also suggest bringing with you an eyelash curler (unless it's nowadays considered a security risk...) because it's amazing how much nicely curled lashes open up the eyes and make you less tired.
There are also different radiance masks that you could bring with you. I keep using Valmont Renewing Pack as it's a great pick me up mask. However, I have not traveled with it as yet.
Also, I would suggest you keep away from tea/coffee/alcohol and go for water instead (I usually ask for warm water) and drink plenty of it.
I've got zero on hair care tips though! When I get off the plane my hair is terrible! |
