My dermatologist says its ok to use it around my eyes. He pointed out that I had a couple fine lines, I'm 24 and while some of the lines are faint and more are more pronounced. Will they benefit at all? how old were you when you started retin a? and did it completely remove fine lines? or just to where you can't see them? I'm kinda looking as to what expect from using retin a ? |

At your age, you'd be better off with a great vitamin C eye serum (like Vivier's Serum 5). It's preventative, AOX, sun-protective (which is huge for 20-somethings) and it rebuilds collagen. It should help eliminate any lines.
I wish I had known about using topical C at your age. Save the retinoids for later in life. JMO |

Hi Barbih thanks for answering! So is it possible to get rid of fine lines under the eyes? My derm nurse was mentioning botox and fillers to me. It was very scary! |

Oh my goodness, at your age, there should be NO talk of botox or fillers. Just remember that cosmetic derms and their practices sell these procedures.
I'm much older than you and I've never done either.
And yes, a great vit. C like Vivier's eye serum 5 can reverse any lining. It will prevent new lines as well. If you like it, you can use it full-face as well.
If you do consider purchasing it, do buy from EDS. Theirs is the freshest IME. |

OK, thanks I just purchased this. I'm going to give it a try. I just don't understand why I'm aging so fast. My derm try to comfort me, his nurse is just always putting in her inputs when he leaves. What do you think about retin a? I've read where some girls my age said it gotten rid of their fine lines by the eyes. |

I agree with barbiH. I would not do fillers at your age, if the derm suggested this it sounds like they are trying to make some money.
Vitamin C, sunscreen always, make sure you eat well (lots of fruits and veggies) and drink plenty of water. At your age, fine lines could just be a symptom of dehydration or lack of sleep.
I know some people do use Retin a in their 20s for anti-aging, but it can be irritating and if you aren't consistent in using sunscreen, it can cause more harm than good. If your skin is sensitive, you could start with an OTC retinol cream. Search EDS for recommendations there are specific for the eye area, but I don't use them. |

Hey Shastagirl. I drink a lot of water that's all I drink, I don't drink soda at all. I stay up late for studying for college. I always had a few there but now they're terrible and a few faint ones are starting to appear. Over my cheeks. Its really depressing. I ordered vitamin c serum, I'm excited to try that. That's for your advice. I'm praying they go away because none of my older sisters in their 30's have them and my Mom is 46 with not one line and so my sisters are making fun of me for this. |

Is it the side you sleep on? If so, investigate the special pillows that help you sleep on your back or a silk pillowcase. |

I'm not sure, but a read a few years ago that sleeping on your side causes wrinkles so I started sleeping on my back and got a satin pillow. I feel ashamed because my Mother nor older sisters have them. Is it possible to completely move them? |

Let me add, the new ones my dermatologist pointed out are short and its a bunch of them. They're coming from NY eyes like roots. I think I did this to myself from stressing so much. |
