Do you have a specific question about skin function, scalp health, nutrition, or makeup techniques? If so, I've found that one of the best places to get beauty/health information is Google Books. I have discovered scores of excellent books from Google Books--usually textbooks/scholarly monographs written for doctors and aestheticians.
Unlike books written for a general audience, textbooks/monographs go into more depth and help you better understand your skin issue. They also tend to approach the topic from a scientific perspective, which I find to be very helpful. Below are a few such books from Google Books:
Milady's Standard Cosmetology
Secrets of A Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon
Aging Hair
Advanced Nutrition and Human Metabolism
Textbook of Aging Skin
Manual of Chemical Peels
Once I find a book that I like, I can either borrow it from a library (via WorldCat) or I can purchase it from Google Books itself or Amazon. |

You can preview the book. Just click on it, and you will see a very generous preview. You can also search inside the book.
If you want to read the entire book (but are unable to purchase it), use Worldcat.org to find local libraries that carry it. However, if no library near you has it, do an Interlibrary loan at your local library. Doing Interlibrary loans are usually fast & easy--at little or no cost (depending on your library's policies).
Let me know if you have any other questions. |
