What formula are you using jackson? can you post it? What SKB are you using?
Sometimes you will need to stir the SKB and/or gently heat it to break up agglomerations before using it. Cool it before adding to the formula of course.
Do you beat the snot out of your formula to get it to be smooth?
I actually prefer Sea Emollient instead of SKB as its smoother and more moisturizing/less film-forming. I save SKB for the hair potions. SEA has it. |

hi Fawnie - I'm using Cassy's CE Ferulic with jojoba and SKB. I'm using Sea Kelp Ultramarine from Skinactives. I do beat it and shake well before use... maybe I should heat it up before adding to my mixture? |

Sorry, I have no idea what is in Sea Kelp Ultramarine, do you hve the ingredients list for it? its not on their website right now. Ive never used it so cant say what the problem might be. But gently stirring it while in a warm water bath before using the sea kelp *might* make it more smooth. Let it cool before adding it to the L-AA mixture tho of course. |

I just started using SKB from Bulkactivesdotcom and when I added it to the CEF recipe they have on their website, I had the same problem. The "serum" itself seems to have a watery consistency with chunks of gelatin-like (i'm guessing SKB) chunks that just won't mix. That never happened to me until I started using the SKB in my C Serum. Anyone find a solution? Heat? dilute? etc... I shook, whisked, didn't heat though.
Thanks. |

I just did my vit c serum with SKB from Skin Actives and it it smooth. I added the SKB little by little to the ferulic acid, which i mixed before that with vodka. After the SKB i added the oils again slowly whisking all the time (no special tools, i use a small spatula for that). Once it done, i added the water-diluted vit c into the cream, again small portions.
Hope this helps.

For some of my DIY serums and lotions, I put the tub in my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and it vibrates out the bubbles and lumps. Easy to do and it makes them smoother and frothier. |
