Can anyone tell me the significance between different areas of the face and the cause of breakouts? I only know that the chin area is hormonal but what is the forehead connected to? anyone have any idea please let me know! Any other areas would be interesting to find out too. |

This is taken from my You Are What You Eat book:
"Pimples point to congestion or imbalances. Depending on where they are situated on the body, you can tell which organ is affected.
Pimples On : Body Part Affected
Forehead : Intestinal area
Cheeks : Lung and breast area
Nose : Heart area
Jaw : Kidney area
Shoulder : Digestive area
Chest : Lung and heart area
Upper back : Lung area
Around the mouth : Reproductive area"
The book then lists solutions e.g. which supplements to take if you have breakouts in each problem area.
Oops, just realised, that the chin area is not mentioned above Sorry guys |

So which supplements should you be taking if acne is mainly on chin and jawline? |

Well, according to Dr Gillian McKeith:
eat quinoa
drink dandelion tea
take a magnesium supplement (1000mcg daily) and B complex (100mg daily) |

Interesting...what is quinoa?
I've never seen dandelion tea. Can this be purchased at health food stores? |

hi rzecka. I was just wondering, what supplements would you take for acne on the cheeks and forehead (mostly near the hairline)? |

TOGirl75: Quinoa is a type of grain from South America. You can get in health food shops. Basically it is an excellent source of protein (it contains all the essential amino acids and so is a complete protein). Here’s a great recipe with it that you could try: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/quinoastuffedavocado_70617.shtml
I’m pretty sure you can get dandelion tea at a health food shop too, although I have never tried it.
Kellyt: This is what the book says:
Forehead: Intestinal area
Solutions:
Clean yourself out with 1 tablespoon of psyllium husks daily in water.
Give yourself regular enemas or even get a few colonics. Personally I think this is a bit drastic!
Cheeks: Lungs and breast area
Solutions:
Drink mullein tea and take Astragalus supplements, three times a day
Take oil if evening primrose supplements, 1000mg daily
Take Echinacea liquid tincture (20 drops twice a day)
Avoid cow’s milk products, saturated fats and red meats. This is interesting because we've only just recently had posts on the link between acne and dairy.
The book also contains 10 Golden Tips for Healthy Skin and an Anti-Acne Plan which has more general information re supplements to take for healthy skin. (I don't really want to post anymore of the book cos I don’t want to get in trouble with copyright! )
Oh, and as for acne near the hairline - we've also just been chatting about this too. I think some people said that this could be caused by the shampoo you use. You could try doing a search for the thread.
Good luck! |

I've heard that chin breakouts could be due to fluoride in toothpaste. I just switched to non-fluoride natural toothpaste to see if it makes a difference. |
