If you do a board search by clicking the search link on the upper right corner, you will get lots of hits for obagi. |

I have a couple friends who swear by it in clearing up their complexion. I want to use it but you go thru like a 2 wk red/peeeling stage that is pretty bad and I won't go to work that way! yep vain |

Actually that depends a lot on your skin and the speed and intensity of your particular treatment. I started Obagi three weeks ago and I have had only minor peeling and almost no redness... Before starting it I was quite worried about that too, but it hasn't been a major problem so far... |

I just started using the Obagi Nu-Derm system on March 2 (evening) -- yes, only 3 days ago. My face gets progressively redder as the day goes on, feeling quite hot and dry. I wake up, however, with no redness, but dry and am beginning to be flakey particularly around my mouth area (as that's what gets the most use I suppose). I have noticed some slight swelling around my eyes (giving the appearance of added wrinkles-not encouraging) and I notice more "liver spots" that I did before. Of course I'm checking myself out alot more closely twice a day. I am using only the items in the kit, with the addition of the eye cream. The jury is still out on the eye cream.
The Sunfader, which is the final "step" for daytime is a killer. At this point (day 3) it burns, but is not yet unbearable. I'm pretty intolerant of my face hurting. If anyone is interested, I'll keep informing every couple of days.

I was on Obagi around 2 years ago and I didnt care for it. It made my blackheads worse and my skin oiler. I was told to wait it out but after 6 months and my skin looking worse than it ever had I finally went to a dermatologist. The derm put me on Neostrata which cleared my skin in about a month(but I still have 2 crater scars from the breakouts with obagi). Im not sure why my skin reacted that way, because I hear such great things about Obagi. I dont want to scare you off just letting you know about my experiance with that line. Like I said everyone I know thats been on that product LOVES it. Good Luck. |

I have seen two of my firends go through it! Yes there is a stage of redness, but after about 2 months there was such a difference in their skin and 1 of the girls had lots of sun spots from being an avid sun worshiper and had litle lines around the mouth from smoking, those lines almost disappeared. I will keep you all posted as soon as I start on it!! |

I do use Obagi for maybe three weeks and I like it very much.I am a little dry, especially arround my eyes, even I use Cellcosmet cream on that area.I use vitamin C 20% Vivier in the mornings and Retin A 0.01% at night with the blender.I am still waiting for the redness and peeling
I have a question:how long these products last?I do not want to be without not even for a day for the next few years. So,the bottles are maybe half used, I don't know because I don't see About the exfoliator:it is a must or I can do without . |

I got my obagi from EDS. I thought it was a good price, postage was quick.
I would recommend buying from EDS. Have you done web search to find the best price? |

No not yet! i am going to the Doctor this Friday..so I guess I should research how much they go for online and see what he charges me for them? He has a $75.00 consult fee, but I can apply that towards porducts..I heard it was expensive, but not sure what that means..I will do research..Thanks for your input! |

Does anyone know what the difference is between Obagi and Retin-A? Do they do the same thing? Have the same basic ingredients? Thanks! |

with the obagi system there is a product called blender and you mix this with retin-A for maximum results. I don't suppose this has helped or answered your question. Sorry. |

Obagi helps the retin a to penetrate deeper than if you just used retin a along. The whole system is designed to give you maximum results using the products in combination with retin a.
Hope that helps.
Lori how are you making out with Obagi, did you get your retin a yet? |

Forgot to mention I buy my Obagi from EDS too. Originally it was purchased from my derm and I payed way more than I do here. I buy the cleanser and toner about three times a year, and the blender and exfoderm forte twice.

Sherri
I am using retinol at the moment and to be honest I seem to be having the same sort of results as the bumff says. Red face, slightly flaking dry skin. I hope it works as well as everyone says. my mouth to nose lines are flaking the most so I am hoping that they will disappear soon. |

I don't think he will give it to me. I had to take Nat to doctors because her ezcema flared up badly and he asked what we had been using because we had not been to him for about 8 months and when I told him it was bioheal(which normally does clear it up) and emu oil as a moisturiser he laughed and wrote dodgy product from internet on her notes. Hydroquinine is banned over here and I am certainly to scared to tell him I am using it. |

Don't tell him what you want it for, retin a is for acne so swear you have been breaking out hehe. I am serious you could use that and get away with it. |
