I've used the .025 micro gel for six months, now using it daily. Doesn't flake as much finally. So why do I need a stronger strength? What would it do? My skin is exfoliated to the point it looks shiny it is so smooth now.

SoftSkin – who says you need to increase strength? If 0.25% is working for you keep using it. Now with the flaking, you can use the same strength for years and flaking happens at different times for different people. I’ve used Retin A for over 30 years, and I can tell you that I had flaking throughout at different periods. Just because after six months you aren’t flaking doesn’t mean your skin won’t flake again – it may do again in 6 months or even a years time.

I can repeat the question after TheresaMary:why do you want to increase strength if what you are currently using is being good for you?

Dosages for medications are generally increased if you aren't responding at all or enough, sounds like you are doing just fine on your current rx so just stay put. Don't increase now if you don't have to, save that for the future when you'll actually need to.

There is some info here that may help, including a study that compared different strengths of Retin a.

I'd suggest sticking with what is working for you.
