I just ordered products from Puredeming and I got an email from them regarding a new product they will be offering called Idebenone cream.
Has anyone here used a product with Idebenone? I did my internet research and found out that this is a so-called superantioxidant and is a cousin to CoEnzyme Q10. The American Academy of Dermatology did a face-off of all the popular anti-oxidants out there and Idebenone came out on top with Vitamin E coming second.
This is quite interesting and only two companies offer it so far. One has .5% (the tested amount), and another has 1% (not tested if more would actually make a difference). You can read the article here:

We've all been talking alot about Prevage, which is the primary idebenone product available. Prior to Prevage's release, the Freeze products were popular but they aren't as effective as Prevage. If you do a search here you'll find a number of very interesting threads on the topic.
I've been using Prevage for about 7 weeks and am very impressed with it. |

| There is no published research on idebenone yet. The "face-off" you refer to was simply an abstract presented at the Amer. Acad. of Derm. last year. So far no journals have published the full paper. The abstract was lousy in that it does not describe the concentrations of any of the other antioxidants, how long they were used,etc. Allergan paid the doc clinic that conducted the 'research' and then the docs presented the abstract. Idebenone is synthetic coQ10. Why synthetic CoQ10 would work better than the organic CoQ10 seems odd to me but that said, it's all in the results, eh? I just don't think it will be worth $90 and why you have to buy it in a docs' office...all sounds like profiteering to me. |

| Thanks for the reply. Yup, I was hoping to see a link where I can find the study that they conducted of comparing idebenone with other antioxidants. I needed more info since Puredeming will be selling the product, which means, you don't need to get it from a dermatologist. |
