Week #2 is finished, and I feel disappointed. My skin is reacting to the products so quickly and intensely that it was recommended I back off some products. My derm said she never saw someone react so quickly. And I have not even used the retin-A/blender yet!
So for the entire 2nd week I only used cleanser, Clear, and sunblock in the a.m. and cleanser, vitamin C, and Clear in the p.m. This did not stop the peeling, redness, or red blotches, but the peeling did lessen. The breakouts I didn't have before I started, and the hyperpigmentation is worse. I know to expect all of this, but other reviewers said that when they experienced this, at the same time they saw the 'new skin' shining through. Not me. Also, I have now started to itch in localized areas. This is very discouraging.
This week I am supposed to be adding the vitamin C back in the a.m. and Exofoderm in the p.m. Not sure why I do the vitamin C twice, but it seems to make things worse.
So, there it is. If I can start to see any improvement whatsoever then I can live with whatever side effects come my way.
If this happened to anyone else please feel free to chime in! |

I'm sorry you're having such a rough go of it newface. Is your skin pretty sensitive in general? I haven't had the same reaction so can't offer much advice but thought I'd let you know that I didn't really start seeing the nicer new skin peeking through until later in the program, so try not to be too discouraged on that front. I'm at seven weeks or so now and still have some bad days.
Good luck and I hope your skin adjusts to where you can tolerate the full program eventually. It is good that you have a derm to help guide you and make adjustments as needed. |

I had to cut back a lot on what I started using (doing it on my own, only clear and blender.)
I also find Vit C serums very irritating.
What did work nicely was mixing the clear with a touch of glycerin. I was able to smooth it nicely over my skin.
I also use moisturizer regularly. |

Thanks.
My skin isn't usually this sensitive but does get red upon scratching or rubbing.
It does help to know the new skin may still be emerging in time.
How long until you guys noticed the hyperpigmentation reducing from the Clear? |

My hyperpigmentation has just faded a little at this point and I'm not sure exactly when it started. I only use the Clear once per day though so with you using it twice you will probably have more noticeable results.
I'm not using the vitamin C product at all with Obagi; perhaps this is the irritating factor like you mentioned. |
